Will there ever be another NFL 2K in my lifetime?
 

How long does EA have the NFL license? I miss the 2K series so much I threw 2K5 in for a while. 2K5 is miles ahead of what Madden will ever be. Has there been any news about a future release?

My love of sports games has never recovered since hte loss of 2k5.

If you can get past the graphics, it is still a better game than Madden 12. Just pathetic that seven years later Madden can't even put out a product on par with 2k5.

Until the NFL decides otherwise, expect Madden to have the license in perpetuity.

I am curious, do the folks who made the 2k football games just move on to other titles at the company, or was that "division" laid off? I would imagine that if it's the latter, it'd be a challenge to bring back a meaningful game.

I still like 2K5. I wish more games had an awesome house you could buy posters for :(

I'm not 100% sure but I think EA has the license through 2014.

EA will never give up the NFL license... and I'll never buy another Madden game unless it gets 9.5's across the board. I'm sick of the shit they put out year after year after months of hype.

Madden 10 was my last one...and 08 before that. Once you stop buying them (I know it is tough since most of us started buying Madden on the Genesis), you will quickly realize you were lighting a match to your money and you will not miss Madden. Just a horrible, lazy product.

I loved that game with a passion. I think the last Madden game I purchased was 08, but I just can't bring myself to buy another one. I play at my friend's house, and every time I do I'm happy I didn't buy it. The fact that I can still say "2k5" did this better is frustrating.

I think the NFL is too greedy to allow this go on forever. They will eventually raise that license fee for exclusive rights to a point that EA will have to think twice before doing it.

I wish I'd have done this with this years version. Bought it, and sold it about an hour later.
