Input your email address and according to what is under the button you will receive a one time use 40% off code on July 15th

I thought this might deserve it's own thread as 40 percent off of some of the used games is a spectacular deal. They typically have new releases used for like 50 bucks, that makes it 32 bucks or so for a fairly new release.

If it doesn't deserve it's own thread then feel free to move it to the video game deals thread, this is for people who may not read that thread all the time.

I'll sign up for a code and see if I can find something. I have had pretty good success with GoHastings on Dvds, cds and books but I have always been afraid to use it for USED video games. (I did buy a couple of clearance new ones once). If my local store is any indication, I expect to receive a disc and that's about it :). But seriously, this coupon would be a good way to see if they send the coverart and the instructions along with the disc.

I got AC:B from them and it was preowned so it came in a rental case with no instructions which i could care less about as instructions are pretty useless and I haven't read one for years. It did have the original cover art though.

And in celebration of this great discount, how does Hastings reward their customers? By generating their biggest and most widespread price hike that I've ever seen. Almost every game has jumped like 50% in price. Some examples:

Tron jumped from $18 to $35
Killzone 3 jumped from $32 to $53
First Templar jumped from $28 to $53.
Portal 2 is back at $53

Bah, it is just as well since I never got my code after I signed up. I'll stick to graphic novels and dvd/blu-rays for GoHastings, that seems to be the best.

Just got my code. That only took about a week. And it is good until the end of the month. I'll look during lunch and see if there is anything worth my while.

Red Dead Redemption, after 40% $11.30
Marvel vs Capcom 3 after 40% $19.68

after tax, I am guessing close $85.

Which isn't bad. But MvsC3 will be $20 at some point you have to figure and it is just a controller (and used at that). So perhaps I take those two out. So we are left with Red Dead Redemption, which at $11.30 is pretty darn cheap (after shipping+tax would come to roughly $~14-$15) and Divinity II. I think Divinity is excellent, except the box is pretty big..I mean this is Hastings, I don't feel very good about my chances of this arriving safely. Do I take a $20 hit and see if maybe they come through :)?

Oyie, I am talking myself out of this all together.

Edit 2: Divinity II just went out of stock. Screw this *beeeeep*

Actually better to wait since many people are hitting the site today. Their stock will go out, and you won't get the game. Wait till next week when the stock replenishes and their prices might come down more too.

Yeah, I just took the email after looking for a bit and decided to just throw it in my coupon folder in yahoo. I'll look at it again in a week. If not, no big deal. My backlog is huge, I won't lose sleep over it.

Haha, I feel your pain there, I have Fallout 3 GOTY still sealed (I have played Fallout 3 but not messed with the additional content and then traded up to the GOTY package) and have no intentions of going near New Vegas for a long time.

I believe Used are trade-ins, Previously Viewed are ex-rentals. Used are usually complete and in good condition, PV are pretty hit and miss.

Correct, used typically come with everything (minus any codes those are hit or miss) PV usually comes in a blockbuster like rental case with original coverart.

Welp, I figured I would go look at the GoHastings while I watched WSOP 2011. Anywho, picked up the following:

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Used - Xbox 360 $2.98 (I know it is not a great game, but I've heard there are some decent gaming elements, at $3 if I hate it, big deal)

All my stuff shipped. If anyone here follow CAG, theres been a lot of cancellations. I HOPE my top 3 PV games have AT LEAST the original cover art and is in good condition. I want instructions too, but for cases I can get those from my games that I want to get rid of anyway.

All 4 of mine shipped as well. 3 in one package, 1 in another (Dragon Knight). Sometime next week we shall see. Still paranoid (especially about Dragon Knight) since I have never done used games through Hastings (I buy mostly blu-rays and graphic novels through their website) but hopeful.
