Super Mario (3D) - 3DS

I'm sure this has been mentioned in a thread already, but this deserves a new thread if you ask me. It is being built from the ground up, and it'll be released before the end of this year!

I want it right this second.

That looks glorious. Once the 3DS drops in price a couple of times and undergoes a minor revision or two, I'll probably pick one up along with this game (which most certainly will still be at full retail price by then).

No, the tanooki suit is the one that allows you to turn into a statue too.

Re: Super Mario (3D) - 3DS

I can't wait for this! This is going to work so, so well in 3D. It's like a 2.5D Mario game or something, especially in this first video.

Different game - but is the Paper Mario that's coming out an all new one? Or a 3D-make?

Crap. I really have no desire to own a 3DS except for this game, which looks amazing. I hate you, Nintendo.

Re: Super Mario (3D) - 3DS

Surely some of you guys also picked this up today. Trust me, the 3DS has been saved by this game and now it is really starting. This game is just amazing, with perfect use of 3D. I put it at full 3D at all times with this one.

Ordered from Amazon, so unfortunately I won't be able to play until probably Tuesday, but I'm excited by all the positive word of mouth. Can't wait.

Totally agree. This game is glorious. It is the 3DS game everyone has been waiting for whether they realized it or not -- a great game in its own right, with actual real benefit to playing in 3D mode. I love everything about it so far. The variety of the levels is really impressive. The sound is great. The graphics are gorgeous. Doesn't even give me double vision while playing the way Zelda always does. Could a handheld game actually be my GOTY? Perhaps!

BTW : At Kmart, it comes with a $15 gaming coupon that's good for 6 weeks. If you were planning on picking up Skyward Sword or Mario Kart 7 any way, getting this at Kmart is an easy, easy decision.

Re: Super Mario (3D) - 3DS

Yeah, Nintendo REALLY knows how to use their technology, this game rocks. Super easy (at least the first time through to world 8) - but satisfying.

Beat it over the weekend... 4 stars to my name now. But there's still so much replay value that it's not a problem.

Re: Super Mario (3D) - 3DS

So, where does this rank among the great Mario games? I'm trying to convince myself that I don't need a 3DS just for this.
