They were trying to be cinematic and cool and failed pretty hard at it. I prefer straight up gameplay video.

So from everything I've read and seen so far... there are going to be some things that they're implementing into the game that I really like... and some things that have me very worried.

But I'll be buying this day one regardless. And I'll probably play the bejesus out of it because CoD games are fast paced and fun. I think most of the people that have played it thus far at CoD XP have said that it's fun to play.

I actually wouldn't mind that but I doubt it'll ever happen. I tend to mostly play single player and avoid online for the most part and would gladly pay half the price. Even if they offered it as only a download version and not a separate disc. I doubt I'll pick this game up or if I do it won't be right away. Maybe after it's dropped to like $35 or less.

Was at COD XP this weekend and it was a hell of an event. MW3 was a lot of fun to play, especially Spec Ops. That was a blast.

Information about some new multiplayer aspects:

Strike Packages

Streaks now come in the form of classes. Depending on if you choose Assault, Support or Specialist, you'll gain access to different kill streaks and perks to unlock during your time in battle. You'll still find many of your favorites, but the Specialist Strike Package simply receives perks as its reward.


Weapon Leveling

Love your favorite gun? Prove it by leveling it up alongside your character and unlocking different proficiencies such as lowering the kick, steadying the aim, and gaining additional attachment slots.


Objectives are Kills Too

Well, not exactly, but assists and hitting objectives will add to your streak count if you choose the Support Strike Package. You'll nab quick streaks for helping the team as opposed to killing everyone in sight.


Kill Confirmed

Kill Confirmed is a new mode that required players to collect dog tags from players they've killed. If the enemy gets the dog tags first, the kill doesn't count (and vice versa). This kill and collect mode forces you to consider where you're laying bodies down and if it's safe to run an grab your trophy. Kill and death stats are significantly lower in this mode.


New Streaks

Now you can jump into a Juggernaut suit and tackle your favorite multiplayer map. For a streak of 17 you can hop into the gunner seat of an Osprey as the helicopter drops supply crates around the map. Trick your enemies with booby-trapped supply crates. These are just a few of the options available to players via different Strike Packages.


No More Nukes or Shotguns as Secondaries

The developer's goal is to bring Modern Warfare 3 back to the guns. This means no nukes ending a match and no over-the-top powers that sway the balance. As a side note, diving to ground from Black Ops has disappeared.


Hybrid Scopes

If you level up your weapon far enough, you'll nab the option to slap a second scope on it. Shoot the way you want to shoot by flipping between two styles of scopes.


New Equipment

Pick yourself up a Bouncing Betty and witness some surprise explosions when this little mine pops into the air and explodes.

I finally got around to finishing up the 69 stars on MW2 on spec ops...I am so pumped for the spec ops on MW3, but the fact that there are fewer spec op missions and now a Spec Ops Horde...er Firefight ....uh survival mode...sort of saddens me...

Is the general consensus that the Hardened Edition is the way to go? I don't play much online, but it seems that with all the DLC that will be included plus the other bonuses, the Hardened edition will end up giving you a lot of content for your $40. I'm kind of concerned that it'll be hard to find (like the Black Ops one was after launch, or Gears 3 LE is currently). Just to be safe, I preordered it this morning.

So is the only real benefit of the hardened edition the elite membership? I don’t usually buy the maps because I don’t play a ton online and the steelbook didn’t really seem like it was worth the extra $40. Is there anything else I’m missing? If not, I was just going to hop on the Kmart or TRU deal.

I'm not loving it so far.

The maps are bland both aesthetically and from a design standpoint. They pretty much all feel the same. Doesn't feel like much thought went into designing them. Each one is just a bunch of random pathways that lead to getting shot in the back ALOT.

The increased damage really annoying. Seems to level the playingfield in favor of scrubs. It just way too easy to kill people so accuracy really isn't a factor at all.
