Don't get me wrong - I switch to the default if I know I'm running around with a tactical knife and want a knife only match.

Sounds like hackers are looking to cheat the game. I'm glad you reported them - they ruin the game.

Some other random advice on improving your game - Don't run down the middle of the map. Stay to the outside looking to the map interior.
Don't sprint - if you ever get a chance to look at some of the better players online they hardly ever sprint in TDM or FFA.
Aim down sites as you round corners - less time to raise your weapon if someone is around the corner
Change your button layout to tactical and try that out. Ducking and going prone is better than accidental knife sweeps.
Don't chase someone to get a revenge kill. You will be killed by someone else.
It was on the 360.

And thanks for the advice. I'm routinely guilty of everything except the revenge kill.

Never even considered changing the button layout. I'll try that later for sure.

Re: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (PS3, 360...)

For those that use the tactical layout, do you ever get used to hitting the knife button fast enough to actually be able to use it? I tried it out for a while, and I did like the ability to quickly duck/prone, but I was constantly getting knifed by people, because I couldn't knife them fast enough when they were close (I usually ended up ducking out of habit). I ended up switching back to the default layout since I felt the lack of knifing ability was offsetting any benefit of faster ducking/proning.

No when I hit the knife button it is very deliberate. Usually I am winning those one on one encounters by already having my gun up to fire and then dropping down while continuig to fire. When I get stabbed it's because I let someone get too close.

I'm sure this was discussed upthread, but how does that even happened?
I am glad you caught someone...if you ever feel something is wrong...ALWAYS check the video...I know it is normal for people to blame lag or something else when they have a bad game...but at times it is NOT just in your head...people do cheat and glitch these games...

No. I never really got the hang of it. The only time I use the knife is when I sneak up behind someone that's camping. For any other encounter, I use an itchy trigger finger. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight.

I'm actually jealous of people who are good with that shit....I try like crazy but suck at pretty much all of the harder to use weapon attachments - drives me f'n crazy too. With that said, I think I'm pretty decent with the Riot Shield - you just have to accpet that you are going to die often when using it but if you're decent.....you can always get more kills than deaths when the match is over.

How do you report a cheater or booster? I saved a video from a game where a guy went 39-1 because he and his buddy, who quit twice and joined so he could be on an opposite team, only to use a tactical insert and lay down in front of his buddy and let him get killed over and over. The guy had a 25 kill streak, which he used the MOAB, then died (purposely) and started his streak over again. Very frustrating game.

Go to his gamertag via the COD menu friends list and report him for boosting.

For every game that is like that, 300 aren't.

I have some people on my list who used the token glitch. Out of all the glitches I find this one of the least offensive, but I have chosen to not use it myself.

However a few of them were caught. They were suspended, had their rank reset to the beginning, and were given 10,000 deaths and losses on their record as a bonus. I was hysterically laughing at them. That is the kind of penalty I like to see.

They show two maps and one of them is another run and gun map? You've got to be fucking kidding me.

How the F do people figure out things like the "token glitch"?? That's more random than winning Powerball.

What game type were you playing? I can understand if it was a team objective match, but to be all pissy about a camper in TDM is kind of lame.

Yeah, I don't understand the complaint about camping either. Even if it was Domination, it would make sense for someone to protect the point.

Finally got around to picking up a used copy of this for $18 and change. It doesn't seem like much has changed multiplayer-wise. The spawns are pretty bad. The maps definitely need to be bigger.

I don't get the complaints about camping either. If some people want to waste an entire game sitting there, feel free.

Yeah, I like campers, only because it feels so good to kill them - they're my most satisfying kills.

While I'm not a "camper", I do like to hang out to grab a couple kills then move on. I don't understand why campers bother people...everyone doesn't have the skills (or desire) to run-n-gun, which balances the game. Camping bothers everyone, yet sniping isn't frowned upon, why? Snipers usually "camp" as long as possible. I'm personally more bothered by the guy running around at full speed throwing knives than I am at campers, and I am most satisfied killing them as they run towards me, lol. . To each his own, I guess.

I dunno...who cares how anyone else plays the game? Play it how you like to play it.

Re: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (PS3, 360...)

People bitch about EVERY type of kill. I have been called a noob for using the riot shield, a sniper rifle, a UMP45, Assassin, and basically anything else you can use in the game. It pretty much boilds down to if you don't kill a person with the exact same loadout they use, they consider it cheap. People just like to complain when they are killed.

I don't mind people who camp an area. Say someone sets up in a room with a window and claymores it up or whatever. What I CANNOT stand, is a person who sits their ass down in some random corner of the map, where it makes no logical sense to camp, with their scope out. I know I shouldn't get mad, but I guess we all have to complain about something, and that's my pet peeve. It just seems like it's THAT person who's going to kill me when I'm one kill a way from earning the specialist bonus.

I played against the funniest tag-name last night... Big Nick Digger.

I laughed so hard I could hardly play.

Encountered my first booster last night during a Kill Confirmed match. Same scenario. Guy had 68 kills and 3 deaths and his "partner" on the losing team racked up 10,000 points with 3 kills and about 70 deaths. Guessing the guy on the winning end was once banned and was trying to get back to Prestige ASAP as he was a lieutenant or something while the other guy was some absurdly high rank.

Terribly frustrating.

How do you report a player after exiting a match? I had reported someone earlier, but that was while the match summary screen was still open and current. Couldn't find a way to do it in the Vault menu.

I don't get the obsession with ranking up or winning matches by exploiting the game. Nothing is more satisfying than getting 18-20 legit kills (that's great for me)... but who would want to get 50 kills by cheating??
