Has anyone played the spec op mission where you walk around in a Juggernaut suit (can't remember the mission name off the top of my head)? Because I think it's pretty damn incredible.
Not only can you call in airstrikes while walking through the level but the enemy is calling them in on you as well and to top it off....it looks crazy when an enemy Juggernaut starts slowly walking towards you - I thought it was really well done.
With that said, both survival modes and standard play through levels are in serious need of checkpoints.

Sounds like you're talking about the mission where you defuse the bombs while wearing the juggernaut suit and your partner snipes from the building and controls the predator missile.

Yeah, that's the one - only I go solo.....haven't had anyone assist me yet but I do know that it makes it a lot more fun (insert sick joke here).

Really happy I decided to jump into the spec ops mode this time out.....they're really well done and not just filler.

BTW, doesn't waste money shooting the choppers down with missiles. Just shoot them down with your primary weapon.

I had to throw in the towel. I bought this release week and have put in around 40 hours across the three modes. I haven't touched multiplayer in a week and when I tried again today, it felt like a chore to play.
The CoD franchise is past its prime in my book and the reviews touting a "perfect multiplayer" experience are suspect in my book.

as for survival..the whole point is to last as long as you can...no real reason for a checkpoint...You need to get to wave 15 on all the maps to unlock an achievement.

The bottom line is I just got tired of bland maps and the same old game play of years past. I really regret getting rid of BLACK OPS, but I'm probably in the minority on that one.

I think people need to live with the fact that they're going to have bad games.....Is multi-player perfect? Not at all but definitely much more redefined than MW2 (which I honestly thought, was the worst COD to date - that game was terrible and was almost tailored for cheaters).
I hear you guys on the spec ops but I still feel the same time wise and starting over wise.....or maybe I just suck at it too much for now?

spec ops is balanced really for two players...I think you will find it a lot easier with a partner. I know the game scales a bit for single player but overall it is just MUCH easier coop...Two players should blow through the 1 star spec ops missions in one night....

and some advice for the survival missions...at least to get to wave 15 on every map...
First, the difficulty does not seem to match veteran on the insane level maps. In fact I can't find much difference between the insane and the easy maps when it comes to the damage you take..they throw more at you...more armored enemies...or bombs...or claymores....they don't make you die faster...even on insane you can take a LOT of damage before you go down..
So here is how we approached every map...
Don't buy anything at first...pick up enemy weapons...knife when you can...and build points...
By the end of wave 3 both of you should be able to buy a LMG...if not it will be by then end of wave 4...BUY ONE...if you are leveled up enough buy one of the better ones that reloads quicker...if one of you have more money than the other share money so you both can get one..
Wave 5/6 is your first Juggernaut/Attack Chopper...on the easier levels it is one or the other, but later on you get both at the same time...at this point you need to find a part of the map with cover and only 2 ways in. Both of you need to watch your side and take out the easy enemies as FAST as you can. If you have a clear shot at the chopper take it out with the lmg as FAST as you can. DON'T waste your money on a pred missile. If you can't take the chopper out don't worry about it for now...both of you need to aim toward the juggernaut as it comes in. One of you flashes it (on insane you need to buy flashes first...so do that before this wave)...both take it out...at most it should take 2 flashes on one juggernaut and two clips from the lmg (once again on insane)...at this point take out the chopper if you have not already...
Now the enemies should be dropping good assault riffles..pick one up....waves are easy again..so build up points till the next bad wave...which is usually 10/11...before this time you need to have full flashes...and I HIGHLY recommend fast reload...it will save your ass when you are getting rushed..last thing you buy before the final hard wave is each of you get riot shield guys...they really help...and when the juggernaut comes they slow them down enough to give you time to finish the choppers and other enemies...if you have extra money go ahead and get self revive as well...
That final hard wave will have at least 2 juggernauts...but one is always further away than the other...so follow same rules..you have a LOT of flashes so use them...
The last few waves are usually easy...(from 11-15)
one last note..if you are doing good and have extra money...a grenade launcher is handy between waves 6 and 11...because it helps you build up crazy kill streaks...you money will jump a LOT faster because your kills will come twice as fast and you will get a better multiplier. When placed at wave 6 or so, a good launcher will pay for itself by wave 8...it will not help much against choppers/juggs....

There are a few missions that are easier solo. Smack Town is really hard with two players, because you die in two or three bullets. That makes it hard to even get off the helicopter. You can take far more damage when playing solo.

Never had much of an issue with the spawns until I played Free For All on Dome last night. I was ready to throw my controller through my TV.

Claymores are good when playing by yourself because it protects your back when you don't have a partner..but not needed in two player....Sentry guns also help a lot in single player, but on the harder levels they get taken out quick unless you protect them...but they are good for points like I said...but predators...I just don't see the point...2500 dollars...and you get around 500-700 bucks for a kill with it...it just seems to be wasting money...on top of that...the hard juggs don't go down with one predator missile..

Thing about sentries is placing them in enclosed areas so they are protected from the attack copters. And I always protect them with the claymores so the suicide bombers and dogs trip them and take out a few grunts along with them.
