Question on Lost Planet 2

After being hounded by some friends once before and again I grabbed LP2 recently and it's actually been fun (4-player co-op). I'm still fuzzy on all the ins & outs all the upgrades and what you can or cannot do at your level.

What we're trying to figure out is why I cannot bring my customized character in the co-op game while they can. They suspect it's because they have played thru the campaign and I haven't. When I go in and "spin" for upgrades I get to use them. But if I change my characters appearance I get the default when we play.

I just didn't know if that was the case or not. They kept telling me to hit the "X" button in character customization to bring up where I want to play my character (MP, co-op, single) and I said there is no "X" button. Just the bar that says "chooose your character for multi-player" and the "A & B" buttons.

You have to finish the campaign at least once first.
