It really is a shame. I think there needs to be a balance of races and challenges to keep things interesting for everyone. It was me and ogsoley in a pub room messin around and then we went private and we were knocking out 2 player challenges (20 or so) before calling it a night. Thanks OG for coming out!!!

More of you guys need to get hooked up with a Gamefly account - that way we could plan ahead on what people should rent. (I have a surefire way to get new games on the release day that always works.)

You need to save your pennies for Brink - that game is gonna be awesome. (May 17th - headset not required apparently - Weekend Confirmed podcast mentioned that as you accept missions it will send voice chat for you - I immediately thought of Slider)

Monday and Wednesday night it is. I hadn't made a definitive list of games to be rotated yet. I was just trying out different games (new and old) to try to mix things up. So far I have posted:
Modern Warfare 2
Metal Gear Solid 4
Killzone 3
Burnout Paradise

I have not gotten to some of the games played in the original rotation:
Spoiler:
BioShock 2
Red Dead Redemption
Red Faction: Guerrilla
Resistance 2
Uncharted 2

There are also games owned by DVDTalkers not in original rotation that i would be willing to try out:
Spoiler:
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Battlefield 1943
Borderlands
Call of Duty 4
GTA
LittleBig Planet
Modnation Racers
Transformers: War for Cybertron

I'd be willing to throw up more games as people request them but I have avoided throwing up a poll.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has claimed the Friday night spot as the number of DVDTalkers and regulars who own it has grown (they also play occassionally on other nights as this is frizby's latest obsession) Check the Battlefield Talk thread for more info.

Thanks for the list. I have some of those games listed and might join you if you get together.

Not much of a FPS gamer but Battlefield has me intrigued. I might join your group pretty soon.

That's some funny stuff right there.

Battlefield didn't claim Friday night. It made Friday night its bitch! It rolled Friday night over and shagged its pink ass rotten baby!

All your Friday are belong to Battlefield.

LorenzoL, I just picked up a PS3 at Christmas to get a blu-ray player and never saw myself picking up games for it. Then I read a little chatter about games in a PS3 thread when I was just trying to learn about the console's capacity and decided to pick-up Warhawk used for $10 in mid-January just to give it a whirl. About a month later, I snagged Battlefield Bad Company 2 Ultimate Edition at Amazon new for $29.

I've never played an online game before, haven't played a FPS since Goldeneye N64, and I'm having an absolute blast. I hope you'll join us.

It's a heck of a game and far more forgiving than CoD (I still prefer CoD though). It is has great value if you can pick up the Ultimate Edition on sale. - Buy it new - Otherwise EA will charge you $10 for all the extras.

If someone plugs a Transformers night, I might actually have a reason to play it.

Re: Return of the Weekly Rotating Games Night (PS3)

Played some Killzone 3 with a friend from work and a couple of his buddies and the objective based games were just great. Had one match where I went on a 10 kill streak and 7 of those were melee kills. Won 5 matches in a row wjile playing as the sniper class. Good times i may revisit this later. We then tried to get on the Crysis 2 demo and it wasn't working for any of us - must've been server issues.

Trying to see if we can get something else in what are you guys interested in?

Re: Return of the Weekly Rotating Games Night (PS3)

I was thinking of Battlefield 1943, Red Faction, Modnation Racers, Burnout, or one of the other games frizby owns for a couple of nights. Especially since he will be consoleless for a while.

I should be getting Killzone within the next couple of weeks from Goozex, I'd be up for trying that some time.

EA has BFBC2 as a potential flash deal today, provided they receive the requisite 1000 votes by 6pm PDT / 9pm EDT. Here is a great opportunity:

Re: Return of the Weekly Rotating Games Night (PS3)

I gave it a go last night and ran with a couple of chatty randoms who are really invested in the game. Figured out the weapons and controls and only got booted out of one match because of lack of DLC. Had my ass handed to me in only a couple of matches but was competitive in the majority of them. Good times. Was hoping to get some MGO going on another night but apparently their servers are down.

Re: Return of the Weekly Rotating Games Night (PS3)

Obviously, I'll be out for the next 7 months or so, but I hope this catches on with you guys again. I did enjoy the change of pace, but I'd say generally that this should focus on non-shooters.

Tough to find time between Battlefield nights.
