Xbox Live downloadable content question

I looked for an answer to my question, but didn't find one. My apologies if this has been asked...

My son and I share an Xbox - but we each have our own account. He downloaded the new map pack for Black Ops today. I don't want to play on the new maps though. Is there any way I can opt out of the new map pack on my account? Right now, I'm being forced to play on them and outside of jumping out of matches, I don't have any choice. Suggestions?

Can you just delete them from your hard drive before you boot up BLOPS?

I probably could, but then my kid couldn't play it. Therein lies the rub. Thanks for the reply though.

Re: Xbox Live downloadable content question

this isn't an Xbox questions, it's a Black Ops question. I'd ask in that thread since I don't own Black Ops. But in previous COD games, you chose which mode you want to play on. There has to be one where people who don't have the map packs can play.

Couldn't you just opt out of a MP game that has a new map coming up? Since I've d/l the new maps I'd say it's still about 50/50 to get an old map.

Re: Xbox Live downloadable content question

Move the content to a USB stick and remove it when you're logged in.

What's the big deal with playing on the new maps?

This is a much better suggestion than mine.

It really is. You disappoint me 'Crush.

I'll give it a try. I hope it doesn't slow things down too much for my son. He loves his killin' as much as his daddy.

Re: Xbox Live downloadable content question

From Microsoft:

Thank you for contacting Microsoft online support for XBOX. I am Naya and I will be helping you today with this issue.

I understand that you and your son share an Xbox 360 console and when he downloaded the new map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops, you do not like it and would like to opt out the map pack on your account.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

With regards to this, when you download game add-ins, themes, demos, full games, and other content from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, you can use these downloads with any profile on your Xbox 360 console. Unfortunately, this feature cannot be disabled. If you do not want to access your son's downloaded content on the Xbox 360 console you both share, we suggest that you use your account on a different console.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

Should you need to reply to this e-mail, please reply 'with history' (include any previous e-mail) or reference to Service Request Number 1148238629 so we can expedite our service to you.

Thank you for visiting Xbox.com. If you should have future questions on Xbox products or services, please be sure to revisit our Web site as we are continually adding information to enhance our service.

Best Regards,

Naya

Knowing you're being actively ignored is no fun.
