re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread

I've yet to really play it. I go on vacation next week and plan to bring it and The Show to keep my season going. I'm not even sure I have it linked to my PS3 yet though so I'm not sure if it'll recognize my progress from the PS3 version of The Show.
It's nice, games are pricey though and I just got an iPad3 which is so simple and elegant in comparison -- and games are cheap

I have an iPad 2. The games are super-cheap, but I find those games very simplistic and unsatisfying. I'll play with them for a while but except for PvZ, none really have an ideal control scheme and no other game seems to hold my interest for long.
Don't get me wrong, some iPad games are really fun for a nice little diversion, but there's really value in having a portable game system with real triggers, analog sticks and buttons. I just makes playing games so much more enjoyable.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread

I bought Baseball Stars Pro for PSP/Vita last night at 5 dollars and some change. It is still a fun little trip down memory lane and gives me a baseball game to play when I don't have my copy of the Show with me. I wonder when they are going to make it where all of your previously owned PSP and other games that are not PS3 only can be downloaded and played on the Vita?

I still like it but, since I finished Uncharted and About a Blob, I haven't really been using it all that much. Looking forward to Gravity Rush and Resistance, but nothing else upcoming that really excites me.

I don't know anything about Gravity Rush except that it looks Japanese-y. Is it an RPG game?

Open world game where you can manipulate gravity. I think it does have some light RPG elements.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread

I played the first hour or so of Gravity Rush about a month ago and it was pretty neat. The controls took some getting used to for the combat, but it seemed like a fairly extensive game.

100% agree. That's why I chuckle when I read things like "Will the iPad kill the conosle market?"... never, the controls blow IMO and are best suited for simple titles, puzzles and Tower Defense apps.
I would never pay money to have those types of games on the Vita since I have an iPad.

I don't believe it works. They are pretty cheap at amazon for just the charger I think.

http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vi...2693884&sr=8-1

12 bucks from a third party vendor or 15 from amazon

I think you have to buy their proprietary usb and the charger separately but I might be wrong. It sucks that they didn't just go with the same usb cable that you use with the PS3 and the controllers.

This is correct. I wanted to use the PSPGO charger that I already had setup previously to charge the Vita, but the connector is different. You can use the same charger as the Go, but you need to use the Vita USB cable. Ran into issue with the car charger - that does not come with a cable at all and need to buy an extra one.

I have the same issue, not sure why it's doing that. I just don't turn it off anymore, uses very little power when off. I've had my vita in sleep for a week now and it still has a full battery.

Don't forget that you can get 3 Vita (or any platform) games this week for the price of 2 at Target. I picked up: Uncharted, Lumines and Fifa Soccer.

Did anyone who signed up for 3G get the free second month yet? The paid first month expired, but the free didn't kick in or any code to enter on ATT site for it?

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread

Pulled this from CAG, this is what I did and got my free game. Did you follow all of these steps?

Step 1: sign up and pay for your first month with AT&T (can be any of their Vita plans)

Step 2: go back into the Connect to AT&T application

Step 3: Log in to your account

Step 4: Click on My Devices and Plans

Step 5: Click on your device

Step 6: Scroll down and click on Add a Plan

Step 7: You'll see a button that says you have a coupon, click on it

Step 8: click on the PSVITA coupon and follow the prompts, this will give you one free 250mb session when your first paid session ends
I think if I remember it correctly I actually went through this process twice. The second time I went through it said the cost of my month was $0.00. It then extended my subscription another month and I turned off auto-renew.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread

when I go through those steps it asks to input a coupon code, which I don't have, must have deleted the email for the free game to after I downloaded it.

I love Ghost Armor. If you have a kiosk, they will install for you for $20 total and will replace the armor for the life of the product for $5 each time. I have it on both ipads, entire families iphones, 2 3DS's and now my vita.

A little on the expensive side, but I don't wanna have to screw with getting it on correctly. Well worth the extra few dollars for my peace of mind and not having to deal with the frustration of putting those damn things on.

Nintendo 3DS Outsells PS Vita 10:1 in Japan
http://ds.ign.com/articles/122/1222313p1.html
Media Create's weekly sales charts have been released, chronicling how the Japanese game industry is doing. Translated by Andriasang, the data, covering the week spanning from March 26th through April 1st, continues to paint a great picture for Nintendo while painting an equally poor picture for Sony.

Kingdom Hearts 3D and Kid Icarus Uprising were the two games primarily responsible for Nintendo 3DS' huge sales. On the backs of those games (as well as others), Nintendo sold 121,921 Nintendo 3DS units at retail. That's over 10 times the amount of PlayStation Vitas Sony saw sold during the week, amounting to only 12,105.

In other hardware sales news, PlayStation 3 sold 23,771 consoles, trouncing Xbox 360's 1,317 units sold. Nintendo's Wii sold 9,292 units. Not surprisingly, PlayStation Portable sold over 6,000 more units than its successor, reaching the 18,356 units sold mark for the week.

Sales data has also been released for games. Media Create's top 20 list illustrates the dominance of Nintendo 3DS' strong software lineup in the east. The top-selling game for the week, Kingdom Hearts 3D, sold 213,579 copies. Kid Icarus Uprising sold another 47,179 on top of the nearly 180,000 it sold the week before. Six other 3DS games joined those two top-selling titles in the top 20.

PSP and PS3 games also sold well. The top-selling PS3 game was Pro Baseball Spirits 2012, which pushed 90,433 units on PS3 and another 60,141 units on PSP. Four other PSP games were in the top 20, along with three more PS3 games. One Wii game and one Nintendo DS game round-out the list, along with the long entry for PlayStation Vita: New Little King Story sold 7,141 copies.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread

PSP is still dominant over 3DS "on the ground". Sony's only hope is based around how many of those existing PSP owners can be converted over to Vita instead of being lost to 3DS. They really need some red hot exclusives and an announcement of a date for MH4 on Vita would be nice. Depends how long Nintendo's exclusivity agreement is I guess.

It's not surprising. The 3DS has a 1+ year head start on the Vita and has a bigger library of games. When the 3DS first launched it sold like shit too.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread

The Vita doesn't have games and the 3DS just got Kid Icarus.

They put a Monster Hunter game on Vita and it will be on.

Japanese HW Sales (3/19 - 3/25)

PlatformThis weekYTD
3DS 94,0111,118,524
PS3 25,750396,851
PSP 19,875259,618
PS Vita 10,302190,399
Wii 9,270150,875
PS2 1,333 13,365
XB3601,084 16,859
DSiLL 1,058 15,362
DSi 778 11,419

Kid Icarus was unsurprisingly the #1 game as well with 172,027 sold. The top Vita game was Little Busters! Converted Edition, which frankly sounds like either a religious game or a porn game. 8,372 copies sold.
