re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
So who's getting what?
I'm still debating between the Wifi (250) and the 3G + 8Gig Memory card + 1 month free 3G + free $10 game (300) options. The 3G one is basically spending a slight premium in the hopes that the 3G will someday become something that I'm even remotely interested in...

I already pay $30 a month to get 4G hotspot service on my phone, so no way in Hell am I getting a 3G device. It's Wifi for me. Wonder if this Butt Plug offer applies to Wifi only models as well.

Wifi only for me. I considered getting the early release bundle from gamestop, then realized a 4G card, stupid case I won't use and 3G I'll never enable isn't worth $100.

Yeah, that decision was more clear cut. but $50 for 3G + 8 Gig Memory card (which is 40 bucks by itself)... darned Sony, they're pulling me in!

That's the standard $299.99 3G bundle that's going to be everywhere. It also includes a $15 PSN game. Pretty good deal if you're on the fence.
Nice giant image...derp.

Yeah, I "watched" some of those videos on "Butt Plug" while in another room and once I had enough points went ahead and grabbed the 3G bundle for $240. That's the price I had the Wifi model for already and I still needed a memory card, so for a free memory card and some sort of free game, it became a no-brainer (especially considering they didn't offer the Wifi-only model). Thanks TLW!
BTW : It says on the order confirmation item is "In Stock, Ready to Ship", so hopefully it leaves soon.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
are they charging immediately if you use paypal to pay or are they just pending it until it ships on the 22nd?

Got this within 2 minutes of submitting a support ticket
so it looks like it holds any funds in there but doesn't actually take them until it ships, kind of like a pending credit card charge that holds funds but doesn't actually charge it until it ships.
Sorry for the confusion! When you place an order in shop, the funds in your account are immediately reserved by Paypal, to verify that funds are available. This is a "pending" charge. When your order is shipped from our warehouse, the funds are fully deduced, and a charge will appear on your account. Depending on how your bank processes this, the "pending" charge may disappear from your account before shipment, or may remain until shipment when the full amount is deducted.

Mason

It ships USPS First Class, so if it goes out on the 22nd, it might not arrive until the next week. I wish it was being sent UPS instead. Any way, for what I'm saving, I can live with it. Didn't realize until just now that the "First Edition Bundle" ships a week ahead of the regular items.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
They had mispriced the 4gb card one day and had it listed for $0.02. So I ordered one, assuming it would be canceled, but just on the off-chance they honored it and they did!
Since we can't have multiple accounts at once, I'm going to let my gf use that card for her account.

Nice. And a great idea for your gf.
Checking Google, I guess we still don't know what the free game will be, but it's some sort of PSN game. Hopefully we'll get to choose from a list. Guess we'll see.
I'm cautious about pre-ordering a game until I see some reviews. As someone who bought Suggler's Run at $50 for the PS2 launch, I'm a little skittish about launch titles right now. Also a lot of Locker's titles are that price on Amazon already (not Uncharted, but a lot of the SCEA ones that list for $39.99 are $29.99 on Amazon). I think I only want one launch title and am leaning towards ModNation, but really want some reviews first. Hope IGN starts cranking those out in the next week...
edit : Just checked IGN.com

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
I was going to try and pick up a wifi model, Uncharted and a 16 or 32gb memory card. But since they're including an 8gb card and a free PSN game with the 3g model, I think I'll just go with that instead. The main reason I wanted a bigger memory card was to hold all of the PS1 games I've downloaded but the Vita won't even be able to play them at launch. So 8gb is fine for now. Being able to play Chrono Cross anywhere will be glorious, though.
I just hope you can use the $15 for any PSN game. I think I'd download Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions for the PSP. It's just ten bucks on PSN.
I also wanted a good carrying case but the options for them seem kind of lame. The one in the first edition bundle looks great but apparently they don't sell that by itself. I guess it's another thing I can wait on. Come on, Sony. You're losing money by not selling that case and not having playable PS1 games from the start.

So no UMD transfer program, no PS1 compatibility, and not all PSP games are compatible either. Are there any plans for PS2 downloadable games compatibility?

Man I'd love it if there were a Vita version of that Jak Trilogy HD remake. I'd buy it in one second.

So the butt plug site is legit? Because I need something to stop all this anal leakage and I figure a PS Vita would fit just right.

Here's the list of current supported PSP titles. I was thinking again about getting a vita, but no 3rd Birthday, Metal Gear PW, or Syphon Filter DM, i'm going to sit it out for now.

I've heard that Valkyria Chronicles 2 works, despite not being on that list...
