FYI, Gamestop is selling this now. I got an e mail about it and called a local store to confirm. If anyone wants to grab a copy a let us know how it looks

Just going to post the same. Saw it at Gamestop tonight. I'm waiting for $40 at BB which would make it $32 after the Gamer Club discount. I think that's my double dip price. $60 is just asinine. However with the new console droughts, it could be a smart move on their part.

IGN review of the Definitive Version is up.
Their take? Surprise! It's the same great game with very few, useless single player extras and the same lackluster multiplayer, but even prettier looking (not that it really needed that much prettying up in the first place). Shocking.

Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
I'm in a weird TR vibe right now. With Guardian of Light being free on XBLA. Is there any difference on the 360 versions and PS3 versions of Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld? The PS3 has a trilogy edition of them. But 360 has each of them for sale for like a bit under $7 on demand, combined they're about the same as the trilogy. Kind of fighting in deciding which I want. Is there a graphics difference or etc etc?

Picked it up early at GS today, and have been playing for hours. It is more of the same, but its beautiful, and one of my favorite games of the last gen. Played some on the Vita as well with remote play, and it ran fine.
Plus I sold my PS3 so its good to play it again.

Didn't buy the PS3 kept putting off then when saw it was hitting PS4 I decided to wait. Great game just had a couple of glitches with rope arrows, stuck on summit forest level cause they won't work at all on the door

It would be nice if they would sell the damn PS4 version already. Anyone know what the fuck their problem is regarding the new versions? Their website still has the wrong 2/4 release date and when I went to the store this morning they were not interested in even checking to see if it was in the back or anything. The best I could get out of them was "nope" when I asked if they were planning to sell it. I don't even need the game now since I already beat it on 360, but I am almost willing to pay the extra $12 and get it from Gamestop just to spite Best Buy.

I didn't realize the art book version was going to be so damn limited. Only two stores in my area received them. The first store wouldn't sell them until next Tuesday and after speaking to the second store on the phone and driving out there, they couldn't get it to ring up either. Oh well, at this point I may end up passing on it and waiting for the price drop on the regular edition.

This article on Polygon touches a bit on the retail version of Tomb Raider Definitive Edition.

Sounds like the PS4 version also has some novelty uses as well. Swipe on the touch pad to light your torch, the radio transmissions come through the controller speaker, the light bar on the controller turns different colors in different situations (stealth, firefights, etc). Not anything groundbreaking but kinda cool.

The speaker has been far more useful to me than rumble ever has. Despite the shitty speaker in Wiimotes, I loved it. I've been enjoying it far more on the PS4 with little touches like mentioned above.

While Digital Foundry ranks the PlayStation 4 game above the Xbox One version for pure graphical splendor, the comparison also notes that neither of the next-generation games runs as well as the original, 2013 release of Tomb Raider on a modern gaming PC.

Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
I would say, if you have a 5 years old or so PC, and you add a $250 videocard from the last two years, the game will play better in PC.

The current gen release of this game has proven to be quite the enigma. Another dry run to Best Buy yesterday, of course Wal*Mart didn't have it since they never have any fucking thing when it comes out and out of two Gamestops all they had was the typical open copy that they want you to pay full price for.

Naw, more like a $200 videocard with two free current games (Assassin's Creed IV and SC: Blacklist). But actually TR: Definitive looks much nicer than the 2013 PC edition, hope the updates are made available at some point.

Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
So Tomb Raider, a last gen game, joins CoD Ghosts, BF4, AC4 and NBA2K on the list of multi-platform games the XBOne can't fully run.
Who could've seen that coming?
