I'm thinking about getting that too. I've always wanted to play it, but just never got around to it. These other deals are tempting, but I don't play on the PC enough to justify spending money (however cheap) on games I would probably never play.

Re: Holiday Steam sale?

If it isn't part of a daily deal, you should probably wait until the end. Also for Company of Heroes, check out the Complete THQ pack, as it's only $50 and has a really good selection of titles (if you don't already own too many of them).

How much is Company of Heroes? (I'm behind work filter which block Steam's site but not DVDTalk).

Any good daily deals today?

Re: Holiday Steam sale?

i still haven't played some games i bought last year from Steam. i'll spend no more than $25 and that should carry me over.

come early next year getting a new laptop for the house once Sandy Bridge comes out

and no more spending too much money on PC graphics cards for me. done it and tired of it. except for strategy games it's cheaper playing on the PS3 or X-Box 360

Interesting. I could see dropping a fiver on a good RTS game.

Even though I have yet to put more than 4 hours into Starcraft 2.

Re: Holiday Steam sale?

Does anyone have any thoughts on The Witcher? I remember some mixed reviews when it came out. Wonder if it's worth the $5?

Re: Holiday Steam sale?

I'm almost tempted to get Burnout Paradise just to have it for PC. I may bite if the wheel support is better than it was on the console.

Re: Holiday Steam sale?

By the way, for anyone who enjoys online co-op, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is tailor-made for you. Solid if you play solo, real enjoyable if you're playing through with a buddy (even if some of the puzzles/fights towards the end are a pain in the ass).

Re: Holiday Steam sale?

Buying games in Steam is addictive for me. I just bought The Witcher, and after hitting the Install screen, I was like "Hmm, now what else should I buy?!". Luckily I resisted. Just waiting for a deal on Grid, The Ball, and both CitiesXL 2011 and Sniper, if they are cheap enough.

I have no idea about this game. It's an RPG right? Is it sort of like Oblivion? Is it really good?

It is supposed to be a very PC RPG. So some menu driven inventory systems etc. It also got notoriety for the adult content (it has sex and violence) but received acclaim for having a well developed world and supposedly decisions made throughout the game impact the storyline in meaningful ways. I have heard if you work heavily for one faction over another it impacts the balance of power and shifts how some other things progress. It has consistently gotten good word of mouth and I tried to snap it up when all the Circuit Cities closed but missed it. Then I missed the one day Steam sale last year.

Will not miss it this time. The Steam version is also supposed to be a director's cut that includes patches which fixed some pretty crippling bugs from the first release.

Re: Holiday Steam sale?

The Steam server being too busy to handle requests drives me up the wall.

Re: Holiday Steam sale?

I've been playing the Witcher the bit. Is it just me or is the game kinda choppy and has some bad clipping issues?
