Man, Shepard is a sex maniac. I just slept with the assistant, then the journalist came in for an interview and Shepard hit on her, too.

And then I had Liara sitting on her lap. This is three conversations in a row.

Finally got my Galactic Readiness to 100% last night after playing multiplayer way past the point of fun. Then this morning it was at 98% again, but one match fixed that. Now I'm back to the story and more painful decisions.

Did anyone else find a small friend from ME2 hiding aboard the Normandy?
Spoiler:
Space hamster!

I don't know if they'll pick a fight with ME ever again. Remember when that 'relationships expert' tried to say this and got her book decimated by the video game community.

IIRC, in the first two games once you chose one character to sleep with, you didn't have the option to continue hitting (and potentially sleeping with) the others. Maybe I'm wrong about that.

In ME2
Spoiler:
you could break up with someone, then pursue another relationship. You could only do that after defeating the Collector base, and if said person was still alive.

Anyone have their companions show up greyed out and it says blocked? Its happened a couple times and it sucks. Can't use their abilities, but they aren't dead and they are standing right next to me.

Looking at the republican presidential field, Fox News should have no problem with this.

Re: Mass Effect 3

Just beat it. I like the "choices" you get to make regarding what you are going to do at the end. Gives the rest of the games meaning.

Spoilers about the end of the game ahead. Read at your own risk:

Spoiler:
I chose synthesis. Seemed like the logical thing for a Paragon to do. Sacrifice himself so that earth could be saved. Controlling the reapers seemed like a Renegade thing. The other choice to eliminate the reapers, while seemingly good, was explained to happen again and the cycle would continue in the future. Synthesis seemed like the only way to truly save humanity. From what I've seen, the final scenes of the game are the same for all of them. I liked the touch with the eyes of Joker, signifying the change. I don't see why people are pissed off at this ending. I thought it made complete sense in the context of the overall series of games. In a way, it reminded me a little of the ending of BSG. Basically a "reboot" to humanity, starting over.

Having said that, if this is the last Mass Effect game we ever see, I'm going to be really, really pissed off. I think outside of the Mario/Zelda series, this is probably my most favorite game series ever. I don't know how you could continue the series, but it deserves it. Shows that if you take the time to really write a fantastic story, a game can feel like more than a game.

One more thing about the ending. Someone confirm this for me after they beat it.

Spoiler:
After beating it, watching the credits and then watching the final cut scene, it kicked me back into the game, right before I got the illusive man's base to assault it. That happen to anyone else?

How many hours? I'm at like 12 and it seems like I haven't done much main quest stuff. I know I put over 40 into ME2 the first time.

Right around 40, give or take an hour or so.

People are upset about the ending
Spoiler:
because all endings borked mass relays, and the merge ending goes against everything that shepard had accomplished that synth and organics can live together. I think control is the best, relays are borked but shep can have the reapers fix the relays. Also many wanted to know what happens to the different races and character

Also people are pissed because it was said that your previous choices would matter and have a bearing on the end game, and it really didn't

Spoiler:
Maybe that depends on which ending you pick. The one I did, basically merged organic/synthetic into a new species. New DNA and all. I think that ultimately the goal of the game. Peace in the universe. It was accomplished with Shepherd sacrificing himself.

Plus, do you honestly think they are going to give you an update to what happened to every race? You meet like 10 in the game! It's a generic ending, but you can't fault them for not walking you through what happened to every species because they created such an in depth game. It's one or the other.

Spoiler:
that means Shepard lost, he wasn't able to save the council by defeating/neutralizing the reapers, he had to essentially join them. Reapers were created because the thought that synths and organics could not live together, but Shepard proved them wrong.

And fallout Vegas had little updates on different groups in the epilogue, little bits on 6-8 characters and 4-6 species

Yeah seriously. The game hasn't been a week old. Even if I play the game 2 hours a day, it'd take me 3 weeks to complete it if it's around 40 hours.

Spoiler:
To you he lost. To me it means he ultimately won. He unified the universe. Any choice he made got rid of the reapers. What point was there to save the council? My interpretation of the reapers was that the humanity continued to head down the same path of war time and time again. The reapers were a way to "purge" the universe and start fresh. But that's the beauty of this game and how good it is. Like a really good movie or TV show. It allows you to interpret it your own way. I really don't see this as a cop out at all. I respect your opinion, but I completely disagree.

Re: Mass Effect 3

Finished my first playthrough tonight too. 44 hours: 22 minutes, 66 closed quests in my log, ended up at level 56 after importing a level 30 character. On to NG+ and Insanity (which is going to be ridiculously difficult on this game, I fear).
