Buy ANY 2 video games get 1 free ($14.99 - $59.99) @ Target - 10/31/10 - 11/6/10

I figured since the Best Buy deal was a bust this week, most people would be jumping on this deal next week. Too bad GT5 was delayed because it made the front page.

I'm probably in for DJ Hero 2, Fable III and I might jump back on the NBA 2K11 wagon (again).

Is this in-store only, and does it run all week?

I'd like to pick up Fallout, Fable, and Star Wars during this sale, although I don't know that I'll be able to get to a Target until Monday afternoon. Hopefully these titles won't be impacted by Target's "quantities limited" disclaimer.

Really? Modern Warfare 2 at the $59.99 price point -- nearing a full year after release. Even with the B2G1 deal, that wouldn't be the smartest choice to make ANY of the 3.

Wow. Nice Gran Turismo was such a late scratch that Target still has it in their ad. They're going to regret that.

Rock Band 3 isn't even in the ad. I thought it was supposed to be huge?

Neither is Fallout New Vegas.

Pretty lame by advertising MW2 for $59.99 a week before Black Ops comes out. But hey, people will buy it.

Yeah, even more pathetic is they haven't done a GOTY edition now. Even when MW2 came out, COD4 was $40 new in stores and came with the $10 DLC on disc.

The local used game shop though has finally started to sell used copies of MW2 at $35-$40 though, as opposed to the $45-$50 starting point they were holding at and selling quite often.

With the utter failure of Guitar Hero, methinks Activision will be riding the full price train on CoD as long as possible.

Plus, it was $39.99 at Target two weeks ago.

Bad Company 2 is $30 at Target through 11/7.

I might pick it up at that price, especially with the Vietnam expansion coming.

Don't forget that Target's system automatically adjusts each game's price. So if you get three $60 games, each one will ring up $40. So no swaps like TRU or Best Buy. But I like it better because if you don't have three game you want, you can easily return one and keep the other two at the adjusted price. I'm thinking Rock Band 3 and maybe Fable 3 so far.

Bestbuy price matched it today for me no problem. They manually split the difference of the free game between the 3 games prices to (as the manager told me) to prevent me from taking back the two games I paid for and get a free game. Not an issue for me as I intend to keep all 3 games.

Interestingly, I first ask about price matching Target's ad in the video game department and the BB guy told me 'we should, but you never really know until you get up to the checkouts.'

Of course, if you have a Target credit card, you now automatically get 5% off your purchase if you use it. It beats reward zone benefits, of course, I had some gift cards to use, so that's why I wanted BB to match.

Welp, going to go to Target at lunch time today.

The plan is...

Fallout 3: Game of the Year (360)
Super Smash Bros Brawl (for Wife's bday in a week) (Wii)
Third choice is kinda open, going between Rockband 3, Harry Potter Lego, & Red Dead Redemption (all 360).

However, if my wife's choice isn't there or OOS, I probably won't bother as I can always wait on Fallout 3 GOTY.

I asked an employee, they said that they never match "Get one free" sales, so it may be YMMV

It looks like Amazon upped their matching of the offer this week. Last week, there were not many good games for the Buy 2 get 1 free deal.

Today, I looked and there are a lot more games that weren't there before. Fallout: New Vegas, Rock Band 3, etc.

They were just matching the Best Buy sale last week, which was similarly limited. However, the amazon sale is fluctuating, with some games being removed already (like Fable III). Still, you won't get Etrian Odyssey III (or any DS game) in the Target deal.

Welp, got the first two I mentioned plus Harry Potter Lego (after I accidentally broke the cord on Alan Wake ($39.99), but nobody saw me). Also, did the Target Credit Card thing for an additional 5%. On # of copies, Fallout 3 GOTY was the last copy and both Harry Potter Lego and Super Smash Bros were on the next to last copies. I was wavering with HP Lego because I know those titles always go to 20...but I have always got my money worth with Lego titles (exception being Lego Indiana). Good deal, just kinda wish Redemption was down to $50 already (but I'm good with waiting for Black Friday or later).
