I'm not one to buy racing games early, but it is Criterion, and...damn.

I'd rather see Burnout Paradise 2. But I'll still pick this up.

Let's hope they fix the A.I. on the cops. I love Most Wanted but goddamn it gets impossible once you get further into the game.

If it wasn't Criterion, it wasn't the same game. I'm just about certain this one will rock.

I wonder if there will be any PS3 exclusive stuff. EA seems to be really pushing the PS3 connection now and Burnout Paradise was the first multi-console game that was appreciably (or at least arguably) better on the PS3.

I pre-ordered at Amazon (you get Shift free). Most Wanted is still amongst my favorite games but unless you exploited some of the glitches there was no way to escape the cops and I've yet to beat the last "boss" in the game.

Do tell. I might need to know these so i could finally make a run at trying to finish the damn game. My problem is once I put on the game and start just one challenge, I need to have at least a 2 hour block to try to get rid of the cops. And if they catch you, you end up having to start that one challenge all over again. It makes me tired just thinking about it.

Yeah I loved Most Wanted up to a point and then it got impossible and I gave up on it.

I've always liked the Need for Speed games, but I thought they were going in a more "realisitc" direction. Wasn't the last entry in the series more of a real world simulation racing game vs the cartoony stuff that the previous Need for Speed's were?

That's what I thought and I've forgotten about Need for Speed for a while but this looks just like the games I used to like.

I don't keep up with the series but I recall hearing about it on a podcast that the goal is to alternate between sim and arcade every year.

What glitches? I don't recall having any real problems beating the last racer. That was one of the few games I got all of the achievements.

Anyone else have a problem with the title of this game? I'm sure there are other games that have the identical name as previous iterations, but I can't think of any off-hand. I think it's confusing as hell.

Yeah. Also Prince of Persia and Bionic Commando. I hate all those names. Does anybody refer to that cel-shaded 2008 PoP game as "Price of Persia"? Not really.

There's a glitch where you can lose the cops (assuming you have an ass ton chasing you) by entering a warehouse, driving up a ramp and then moderately accelerating onto the back of a truck hauler. The cops will slow down to chase you but then fall between the warehouse wall and the truck hauler and eventually you lose the "notoriety".

It's been a few years so that's the best I can recall. I did a quick search at Youtube but couldn't find the exact video.

I don't even want Shift... but it was the best deal at the time. I'll probably Ebay it immediately to get what should have been my $20 GC from Amazon :)

PS -- what's up with Amazon dropping all of their GC recently? It's either down to $10 or they remove them a few weeks before the game is released. Very disappointing after they set such an awesome precedence.
