Telltale Games Back to the future episodic Adventure game!
Telltale Games times 'Back to the Future' project
It's about time, McFly. A video game based on the Back to the Future movies is in the works. Being developed by Telltale Games, the Back to the Future game series will include the likenesses of Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, who portrayed the characters Marty McFly and Doc Brown in the films, which listed Steven Spielberg among the executive producers. (Lloyd will also provide his voice for the games.) Bob Gale, who wrote the screenplays for the three films, is working with the game developers on the plot for the planned five "episodes". Telltale's recent releases include a series of Sam & Max games available for download on Xbox Live, the PlayStation Network and for computers at www.telltalegames.com. As for the storyline, Telltale would confirm that the games would include an appearance of the DeLorean time machine and, the fictional California setting of Hill Valley. The time periods covered will include 1985 and additional characters from the movies will crop up in the game. http://content.usatoday.com/communit...ture-project/1 -Not a fan of Adventure games but this is one series i will definitely have to check out! |
Re: Telltale Games Back to the future episodic Adventure game!
That sounds interesting, but I'm not liking this episodic format for games. I'd rather they just do a full game and release it all when it's done.

I'll bite; I really enjoyed their Sam and Max episodic series. I find it best to wait until all episodes are ready and then grab them all at once; usually cheaper that way too. :)

Re: Telltale Games Back to the future episodic Adventure game!
Agree with Kaycee. I bought both of the Sam and Max collections when they hit disc form on the Wii and couldn't be happier. I totally understand not digging the episode format, I would suggest just waiting.
Back to the Future does look like it has potential though, like the fact that Lloyd is doing the voice for his character, he is awesomeness. |
Re: Telltale Games Back to the future episodic Adventure game!
So I was worried when Michael J. Fox wouldn't be voicing Marty. But wow, they did a great job replacing him.

I hope this is better than those shitty NES games.

Re: Telltale Games Back to the future episodic Adventure game!
It's a shame Fox couldn't do the voice work (I suspect he's self-confident in his now shaky voice), but the guy they got is amazing.
Shows that sometimes the best guy for the job isn't necessarily someone deep in the business. |

Wow, that guy nailed Marty's voice. Good to hear Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd are on board (in some capacity) as well.

Re: Telltale Games Back to the future episodic Adventure game!
Incredible. That guy is miraculous. Doesn't sound like an impression, sounds like MJF himself.
Liked hearing that music. Reminded me of when I visited L.A. in June 1985. I had a family friend who was a studio cellist and he invited me to spend a day on the Warner lot watching the recording of the score to BTTF. I had no idea of what the film was, except that Spielberg was involved. I spent the day with Alan Silvestre and some others in the recording studio watching the orchestra record and record the music to several scenes. Someone would come over with notes on editing changes and Silvestre would change the composition accordingly on the spot. They were rushing like crazy to meet their July release date. It was a very cool day, especially considering the film turned out to be a timeless classic. |
Re: Telltale Games Back to the future episodic Adventure game!
Had they never showed that guy, I would have thought Michael J. Fox did the work uncredited.

Re: Telltale Games Back to the future episodic Adventure game!
Yeah he did a really good job.

Re: Telltale Games Back to the future episodic Adventure game!
What system is it for? They gave me a code, but it has no mention of what it's for (and it's clearly too long for PS3). I hope it isn't just a PC version or 360 only.

Diggin around the website turns up this: PC, Mac, iPad, and PlayStation Network

Re: Telltale Games Back to the future episodic Adventure game!
this was on joystiq yesterday:
Telltale has revealed that it's trimming the list of platforms upon which its next onus, Back to the Future: The Game, will appear. The game will arrive first on the PC and Mac sometime this December, followed shortly thereafter by PS3 and iPad versions. Looks like the Wii and Xbox 360 got the short straws this time -- if only they could travel back in time to before this announcement was made! |

Re: Telltale Games Back to the future episodic Adventure game!
Wow, that's surprising they're bypassing the 360. And for the iPad, of all things.
