I ended up pre-ordering MoH so I could get the $20 credit on Amazon, which I plan to use for Fallout New Vegas.

@ EA

They took the Taliban out, but the game will still be banned from sale on military bases

I would like to add that I thought Bad Company 2's single player was better than MW2....so this might not be a bad thing..

Same here. In fact, I thought BC2 single player was better than most FPS story lines. It had a lot of different environments and a ton of great action that didn’t feel repetitive.

Re: Medal of Honor (360/PS3/Wii/PC: 10/12/10)

http://playstationlifestyle.net/2010...an-go-to-hell/

Jack Thompson just will not leave the video game industry alone, despite the fact that he has been permanently disbarred from practicing law since September 2008. With the recent change in EA’s Medal of Honor game, the activist has a few choice words towards gamers.

As you may or may not know, EA recently decided to change the label of the terrorist players in Medal of Honor’s multiplayer mode from “Taliban” to “Opposing Force.” This was mostly due to some negative reaction from various interest groups. Jack Thompson had actually written a letter regarding the issue to Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, calling the game a “training tool” for terrorists to learn how to kill members of our military. In speaking with Ripten, Jack Thompson declared this result a victory for himself:

“I win again, as usual. Any gamers who don’t think so and who don’t appreciate what I do to protect our culture can go to Hell.”

But Mr. Thompson wasn’t done yet. He sent a second e-mail which added:

“and please add: Any gamers that don’t know how to get to Hell on an expedited basis, let me know, and I’ll send along the cheat code to get there more quickly.”

Rant away, everybody, rant away.
Does anyone take this moron seriously anymore?

What an idiot. Everyone knows that even if we used a cheat code to go to hell, all we would have to do is /god and /noclip and then we can escape

I'm pretty sure the cheat code he is talking about is Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start

I can't enter it in time and keep resetting back to purgatory

Does anyone know how Frontline will come on PS3? Is it on the disc or download?

Word is starting to come in that the SP is only 4 to 5 hours long.

Some user over at neogaf got the game early, and played through the whole game on normal setting he watched all the cut scenes and completed the game in about 4 hours.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost...&postcount=178

Reviews of the game won't be out till the day the game is released.

thank god for Kmart's new aggressive game coupons....All new games 35-40 bucks, and I don't have to worry about getting a game from amazon, only to find out it is 4 hours long because they kept reviews from coming out....

I totally agree. I've been burned so many times by Amazon preorder deals for games I didn't yet realize weren't very good. Kmart makes it a lot easier to make an informed decision and still get a good deal.

I just came back from SF and there were ads for Medal of Honor everywhere. EA clearly has very high hopes for this title.

I waited for a pricedrop on Bad Company 2 since I only play the first one for the single player and likewise for the sequel. I like it so far (haven't dedicated any real time to it since I'm focused on Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2 at the moment) but it feels rather "small" compared the single player of the first Bad Company. I'm talking scope (of the actual levels) rather than length (even though the plot seems better in the sequel). The story however seems much better in BC2.

So I'm guessing the single player of MoH may feel the same. However, weren't DICE involved exclusively on the multiplayer of MoH and had nothing to do with the single player campaign?

you are right about DICE, I was mostly talking about how reviews said the same thing about BC2 which actually had a great single player....while the short, convoluted, "lets see how many BIG moments we can make, but forget about pacing and build-up" game that was MW2 gets a pass...

Re: Medal of Honor (360/PS3/Wii/PC: 10/12/10)

Shit...more and more people saying 4 hours on easy, and 5 hours on hard....

I also hate it when people predictably come into a thread about a games length and say it is all about quality over quantity. Of course quality is important, but if Bioshock, one of the best FPS of this generation, was half the length it is now, I would have been upset. I seriously doubt Medal of Honor is as good as Bioshock. A game like Left 4 Dead can be 4-5 hours long because of the type of game it is. It is meant to be played over and over with friends as an arcade type game. As more and more focus is put on the MP experience, games like MW and now it looks like Medal of Honor keep shortening their experience. Thank god for EA's push to charge for MP on used games. This will help me pick up this game for under 20 bucks used quicker....

If you're only interested in the short SP game, why not just rent it?

BTW : Qore just came out with a MoH profile and while the game looks pretty, the clip they showed of the PS3 bonus (a remastered version of MoH Frontline) looked like ass. Doesn't look like the bonus was enough to move me off my preferred MP platform (360).

not sure why, but I just don't rent games. I have owned every game I have ever played with the exception of Avatar, which I got with a free gamefly trial... (this generation, I don't have all my old atari games)

same reason I own over 4000 dvd and now 300 blu-ray movies...I am an idiot...

Just canceled my order w/ amazon. Four hours is unacceptable, and no multiplayer component can ever make up for that.

I bet half of the people in my friends list that have wasted literally hundreds of hours of their lives (each) playing MW2 would beg to differ.

They would, but if a game can't stand up on it's single-player portion alone, it isn't worth full-price.

Yahtzee explains it best here (at 3:43)

Is MW2's story mode that bad? I guess I shouldn't bother then. I actually enjoy a good story in my shooters.
