I wish they'd stop making game trailers as if they're movie trailers. Teaser or not, make a fucking trailer that shows off the GAME.

Sign me up. I'm guessing we will see a new trailer about every 3 months and we will then see an info dump around August for an October/November release. I also think it is a prequel that sets up the events of RDR.

This is very similar to the first GTAV teaser. It just showed NPCs doing various activities in the environments.

I doubt Rockstar is ready to divulge any of the story or when it takes place and game play can be revealing. Once they show the game in action, every single frame is going to be scrutinized and we will have to listen to theories and whatever else for months to come. That is why I'm glad that Fallout 4 was announced and released within just a couple of months.

They had to really hype Witcher 3 because no one other then PC fanatics cared about that series and they were trying to get awareness for their first big multiplatform release. Red Dead like most other Rockstar games doesn't need that.

Did Red Dead Redemption 2’s release date just leak?
We know Red Dead Redemption 2 is arriving sometime in the fall of 2017, but Rockstar has kept quiet as to any exact date, leaving us with a wide window of possibilities. That may have changed, however, thanks to a listing from a U.K. retailer that appears to nail down an exact date.
British online storefront Littlewoods has posted a pre-order listing for the PlayStation 4 version of Red Dead Redemption 2 with a guaranteed delivery date of “02/10/2017,” or October 2nd (as spotted by RDR2). While it’s entirely possible that the date is merely a placeholder, dates for big games have been outed by retailers in the past, with multiple leaks for Mass Effect: Andromeda that were later proven correct, being one recent, high-profile example.
Still, there’s some reason to be skeptical. The date in question, October 2nd, is a Monday, which is an uncommon day of the week for game releases. Tuesday and Friday are the most common choices these days. It’s not like Rockstar has bucked the trend, either. Every single version of Grand Theft Auto V—last gen, current gen, and PC—released on a Tuesday.
Plus, there’s the added possibility that the date may be accurate only for the U.K. GTA V released simultaneously around the world, but the original Red Dead Redemption had a staggered launch, with North America getting the game three days before Europe.
Whether or not the date holds up remains to be seen, but at the very least, it appears at least one retailer is expecting Red Dead Redemption 2 to arrive quite early in the fall, so that months-long wait might not be quite so excruciating after all.
Whenever it hits, Red Dead Redemption 2 is slated to launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
