I'm annoyed that the headline of that article mentions a "release date" which doesn't appear in the article itself.

It'd be cool if they were like yeah we are making it and it's coming out in October.

Much like the Skyrim rumor of remastering, I hope RDR's rumored remaster is also completely false. This generation does not need more remasters, we need new content, especially when the X1 has backwards compatibility (that's all they need to do). Selling me the same old shit (and yes I have bought remasters, but its a frustrating practice) with nothing but fancy graphics. At least with Skyrim they better give the option of importing old characters. Ugh, at least I got my XCom's on BC.

re: Red Dead Redemption 2 —> 10/26/18

"Red Dead Redemption" was available on the Xbox One Backward Compatibility site for a while but was quickly removed. It may be because Rockstar has a bigger plan for the title if this report is any indication.
This level of misunderstanding is enough to throw the whole article in the trash for me.

It wouldn't appear without approval from Rockstar. Microsoft isn't just releasing things and hoping the publisher is cool with it.

Some of it may end up being true, but I am not taking this as any kind of source. Just fishin'...

I do agree that there are too many remasters for this generation, but at the same time they are remastering games that i really enjoyed the last generation and actually have no problem returning to. In fact with this and Skyrim i am really happy to return to them. I would prefer to see more original content though.

I am really looking forward to the sequel to this game. The first one was a lot of fun and very well made. Not sure what i would like to see in the second one....just more of the same would be great.

I hope they hold it back, and announce it in a Fallout 4 fashion. Announce it, only to reveal the game is coming out later in the same year. I stopped paying a ton of attention to E3 and the like because they stay gassing up games that aren't coming out for 2 and 3 years. Talk to me when it's close.

Same here. Otherwise I end up getting pissed off like with No Man's Sky.

Well, you would hope that at this point it is almost if not ready to go. I would venture a guess that they have been working on it for at least two years.

Oh, let's not pretend like this isn't a proper place for that news. Not everyone that cares about RDR cares about the X1. But now they might.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Rockstar officially, unofficially announced red dead redemption 2 on their website. (go to rockstargames.com and you will see what I'm talking about).

I know scott1598 has a "What do you want to see in the next installement" thread going but since this is the actual announcement ....well put it this way, I know how weirdly touchy a lot of you get over these threads so if this one bothers you, I can delete it (or do mods still need to do that?).

My guess is the game will be released second half of 2018.

Nothing. All they did was change their logo screen red. People are assuming it means they are going to announce a new Red Dead.

They posted that across the board, whether it be twitter or their news page. Obviously teasing towards an announcement.

They "officially/unofficially" announce anything. They update their own logo
