Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 > 10/26/18
I just finished Red Dead 1 after completing 2. Gotta say, some moments are much better in that game with so much more backstory.
SPOILERS BELOW for Red Dead 1 (Can't seem to get the tags to work)
* * *
For example Dutch's suicide which didn't quite have the same impact first go round as, well, that character just kinda' showed up for a few missions at the end of the game. Also the moment where you return to Abigale

I'm considering doing a story-only replay of RDR1 when I finish up with RDR2, just because I've forgotten so much of the story. It'll be tough to stop myself from going into collector/completionist mode, though.

I just watched some of the recap videos on Youtube. Didn't want to break out my PS3 to play it again. Didn't really have the time anyway.

Actually, I didn't mind some elements of returning to a previous console game in this instance mainly that I could run everywhere and fast travel. It only took me about 10 hours to complete the main story, which is all I wanted.

I tried to pick this back up over the weekend before going back to AC. Did a couple fun quests
I plan on eventually finishing the story but it's still not pulling me in. After doing a few quests, i was ready to turn it off again.

This is on sale for $39.99 at Amazon and Gamestop if you haven't bought it. It was enough of a sale to get me to buy it. I just can't justify paying $59.99 for games. I'm excited to start playing.

It took a while for me to warm up to it but I can't stop now. I'm roaming the map looking for dinosaur bones right now and enjoying it.

I just fired this up today and after a few hours in loving it so far.
If I just want to stick with the story missions, am I going to be missing a ton of side mission stuff?

Yes but it won't affect the story and you can always go back to them. I found this game to be the most redundant and boring game I've ever played so I could only do the story missions - BARELY made it through the story as well.

Have they added anything to this game (not talking about multiplayer, already know that is going to stay garbage) haven't played since a month after its release so I'm just curious.

I set Spider-man aside and started playing this recently. (I play a game until I get burnt out and then start something else.) I was wandering around and found a guy beating a woman. I knocked him out, hogtied him, and was going to take him to the Sheriff, but someone walked by and I got a kidnapping bounty.... Should I have just knocked the guy out and left?

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 > 10/26/18
I killed the legendary bear and was trying to find a trapper to take the pelt to. I came across two people in danger during my travels to the trapper: A man being attacked by a wolf and a woman kidnapped by two men. I tried to save the guy and give him medicine, but he still died. I had trouble finding where the kidnapped woman was. I had just made it to the trapper after travelling for over twenty minutes. She was dead by the time I found her, but I killed the kidnappers. They were shooting at me and killed the trapper who had ran out to help. I hadn't give him the pelt yet, since the damsel in distress popped up.... I was able to reload and the trapper was alive, but the kidnapped woman didn't appear. They don't really give you much time to find the people in peril.... It doesn't help that it took awhile for the map to give me a location....

I have a love/hate relationship with this game. I was on one of those loan shark side quests today when some guy started a fight with me. I didn't shoot or stab him, but I guess when I punched him he fell down and hit something and died, which alerted a witness, so I did what I had to do with him, and the next witness, and the next until I had every fucking sherriff shooting my ass. So then my horse died and I managed to escape...just to get run over by another horse. So then I come back, no horse, and a huge bounty on my head. Just because some asshole picked a fight with me in the first place. That just sucks.

Yeah, this is one of those games you really do have to remember to make multiple manual saves as often as possible.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 > 10/26/18
I had the camera pointed behind me as I was running since I was trying to avoid being shot, and I think it was a combination of me running head first into a horse and stagecoach that killed me
I'm still chipping away at the game (and saving more often), but Jesus Christ this is a long game. I think I just hit chapter three over the weekend and showing about 23% done after 12 to 15 hours so far.

Is there anything I should be saving my money for? I had over $2K so I ended up spending almost half of that on a horse, just to buy something.
I already bought all the upgrades for my camp and purchased every gun that was unlocked.

I could use some help. I was playing tonight and the camera kept getting real low behind me. I tried messing with the camera settings and that didnt seem to do anything. At the moment the game seems unplayable because of it.
anyone had this problem? Im on a PS4.

I'm finally finished! That was WAY longer than it needed to be, but I'm glad I stuck with it. Overall enjoyed it, would probably land in my top 5 GOTY if I played it last year, but not even close to the top spot. Rockstar can make some really good looking games with a decent story, but they need to make them a little more fun and forgiving as well, IMO.

Push the touchpad to cycle camera position.
