Maybe it is that I haven't played shit for games this year and this seems like the best option of any game until next year when everything hits early (Anthem/Crackdown 3/The Division).
If you didn’t play the first one and you didn’t care for GTA V, you probably won’t miss this. I’ve played the first one and even Red Dead Revolver, along with every major GTA release. I’m definitely looking forward to it.

If you can wait it’ll only be cheaper. Rockstar games hold their value but I’m sure you’ll see a sale around Black Friday. Don’t look for it to drop to $19.99 anytime soon.

Will this get a Black Friday discount being so close to release?

I'm sure someone somewhere will use it as a loss-leader to get you into their store over a similar one.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 —> 10/26/18

I picked up the Game of the Year edition of the original for PS3 and enjoyed it but I'm a casual enough gamer that I couldn't get into it to a gigantic amount. The world was just so huge, so many side quests, etc. all added up to simply too much. The game play was fun and I liked the story (Story matters most. Obviously.), though I maybe got 20% of the way through the game, if that.

This is probably a "down the line" pick for me, but I'll be interested to hear what you all have to say about it.

I am getting more tempted with this coming out tomorrow, but with Black Friday right around the corner I’ll probably wait it out. That and I’m still a bit turned off by how much space it’s going to eat up.

!!! Mine shipped with delivery set for tom morning!

I think it would be a shame to miss out on Red Dead Redemption because of a lack of interest in the genre. I also had no interest until I got into the game, based on the hype. It is now one of my two favorite games ever made. (Silent Hill 2 being the other)

I'd be shocked if this has a lowered price on Black Friday.

I think it’s a lock for at least $49.99 on BF. Maybe a $35 door buster or something. Amazon might lower it. Didn’t they do that for GTA V?

Not this. There wasn't even a discount for GTA 5 Remaster on the XO or PS4 in 2014 after that release

I doubt it. GTA 5 was kept fairly high for a long time, and on the current gen consoles it still hasn't hit Greatest Hits pricing.

Going to pickup a copy tonight at 9 at Best Buy. Going to gift that copy to my brother when mine arrives in the mail tomorrow or the next day.

It hasn't hit greatest hits pricing, but it has been sold st $19.99 quite frequently. Bit I do agree, unlikely this gets a discount before end of the year.

Rockstar was pretty sly about how they did things. Once the 360/PS3 versions began heavy discounts, out came the PS4/XB1 copies at full retail. Once those started seeing price drops, out came the current "Online Edition" which hiked the price back up to retail. Sprinkle the PC version in there as well.

That’s awesome. Odyssey be damned! This gets played this weekend. I’ve never seen reviews like that ever. So giddy and torn at same time bc I am loving Odyssey. But that’ll take me months, 6 or so to finish. Don’t know if can wait that long. Nope this gets started this weekend.

Did the reviews mention how long the story campaign is?

Literally just started the first mission and stopped to say this here, this game is fucking stunning, unreal, when you start the first mission, use the right stick to pan the camera around while you're riding....I'm blown away.

How you playing already?

So I saw this thing on cheat codes. Didn’t even know this or other had them. Not sure, I’ll use any. Never did on last and got 100%, but this you can’t save and get no achievements? Achievements is fine, but how can you not save?

That's what convinced me to buy it now. GTA took forever to drop, and my GCU expires forever in January. The discount I got today with that is probably the best it will get for a while.

Yep, I have a bunch of titles I want to pick up before my GCU expires. Luckily, I'm good until Nov of 2019.

Nice. I wouldn’t be able to play, but have I have digital. I hardly ever get physical unless amazing deal. Hate the disc swap. This is easy and I got tons on space and so easy to play anything when digital...

The physical copy took well over an hour to install. I am just now getting ready to play after about an hour and 20 minutes of waiting. I have a Pro.
