Thats totally insane not to include the game. Hows that possible? Why would they do that? Really to get the extra $ for the game? If thats it, it still absurd. Digital, probably special edition for me...
Seems like people would feel better if it cost $160 and included the game. |

Why didn't they make that horseshit box 150 bucks and include the game? I hope nobody buys that and they end up putting them on clearance for 20 bucks.

re: Red Dead Redemption 2 > 10/26/18
OMG... lol
They are doing what other games have done before with Special/Ultimate editions that do not include the game. This is actually better for the consumer that prefers to own digital games instead of physical. |
re: Red Dead Redemption 2 > 10/26/18
Every T-Shirt for the game should also include a free copy. OUTRAGE.
Seriously, still don't understand why you guys are upset over the selling of merchandise. Unless i'm not seeing something, it doesn't look like the box includes anything exclusive in game, which I could understand complaining about a little more. https://www.rockstargames.com/newswi...on-and-Collect |

Nobody here is upset but most of us can agree that it is stupid. Can we not comment on here how we dislike this practice just as you don't see a problem with it?

So what's stupid about this again? How is it any different selling any other merchandise related to a game, like a t-shirt, hat, action figure, or the other random goods sold by Rockstar or other companies? I'm genuinely curious, because it sounds like you, Oldboy, or K&AJones seem to disagree. https://www.rockstarwarehouse.com/st...oryID.67821100 |
re: Red Dead Redemption 2 > 10/26/18
They should have just called it the Red Dead Redemption 2 physical loot box

re: Red Dead Redemption 2 > 10/26/18
Gotta say, I'm not seeing an additional $40 worth of content in that Ultimate Edition, and that's as a huge fan of CE Steelbooks.

re: Red Dead Redemption 2 > 10/26/18
I'm not upset they're doing this as I pointed out players might be disappointed in Rock Stars Games for this approach...which by the way Battlefield 1 did the same thing and that is going for dirt cheap right now. But some will buy it as well....maybe or not....
If they want to sell merchandise...fine because all have sold somethings tied to a game. You can go to the Warframe site and see all sorts of gadgets and stuff but you won't find some high dollar "Collector Edition" let alone one without a game. Blizzard sell various items tied to games. You can still find plenty of past Collector Editions on sale on Amazon that might actually still have the game. I think it's a bit surprising they didn't do one like others that had a nice resin statue; of Morgan, replica of a old "six shooter, horse something. |

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 > 10/26/18
I remember Nintendo doing this for Wii's Punch Out. I ended up buying the Collector's box on clearance during Christmas of 2009 on Amazon for about $7.99. I imagine the Red Dead II collector's box is going to end up on clearance aisles too.

Hope they don't abandon the single-player game world in lieu of more multiplayer focus like they did with the last GTA.

I'm sure it will be fun, but it doesn't yet look like it is bringing anything new to the genre.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 > 10/26/18
It was interesting that some of the game play footage showed the PS4 control inputs, but a majority did not. I wonder if they had some framerate issues and used the XB1X or PC builds for some of those faster scenes.

i'm brimming with excitement. that footage looked so freaking good!

Game looks absolutely incredible - anyone else catch the mud imprint of the body when he fell out the window and how his clothes got mud-stained in the right spots? Crazy.
