DLC for 9/27:
And to think it was one of the 4 artists we were promised to be revealed if they hit 2M likes on FB. Terrible.
Hey gang,
This week’s DLC offerings come courtesy of a quintessential modern metal band, and Rock Band fan-favorites, Slipknot. As the band celebrates the 10th anniversary of their 2001 release Iowa with a reissue, we join in the celebration by releasing 4 tracks spanning their epic catalog!
“Wait and Bleed” kicks off the pack from their first record, 1999’s eponymous Slipknot, quickly followed by “Left Behind” from Iowa. These tracks are joined by “Pulse of the Maggots” from Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), released in 2004 and the ballad “Snuff” from their most recent studio release, 2009’s All Hope is Gone. Every studio release from the band is represented in this 4-pack and it makes for a raucous retrospective!
As always, songs available as downloadable content for Rock Band 3 feature five-button guitar and bass parts, drums, Pro Drums, and keys, Pro Keys and harmonies, where applicable. Some songs also feature Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades available for an additional $0.99 upgrade download.
Available on Xbox 360, Wii andPlayStation®3 system (September 27th, 2011):
• Slipknot – “Wait and Bleed” X
• Slipknot – “Left Behind”
• Slipknot – “Pulse of the Maggots”
• Slipknot – “Snuff” X

Being from Iowa I feel I should offer some sort of apology for Slipknot. And Ashton Kutcher.

Every time I see this thread bumped, I get a slight tinge of excitement that maybe the Pearl Jam songs are coming. When I see something like Slipknot, I'm especially disappointed.

Wow, so absolutely no love for Slipknot and their sick guitar riffs? I admit I am not a fan of their music (that's one of my wife's guilty pleasures) but they have some pretty good guitar work.

I have 800 songs with varying degrees of amazing guitar work. The majority of which I actually enjoy listening to.

I have a code for Halo Reach. If anyone has any codes for song packs they'd like to trade, please let me know. I'm thinking Bon Jovi, Billy Joel or something like that.

It's a shame they couldn't get to 2 million likes on Facebook earlier and let us know ahead of time that Slipknot and Limp Bizkit were coming to Rock Band. What a horrible couple of weeks.

Not a fan of Limp or Slipknot but Harmonix still gets a for bringing new artists into the RB fold. It gives me hope that someday I'll see something that'll get me playing again.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
But neither of those bands are new to the fold. Slipknot had a pack already and is also on the RB3 disc. Limp Bizkit had the "Build a Bridge" DLC a while back.
