Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I just compared against you. How do you have such low scores? I'm not trying to be a dick (it could be a glitch), but how do you have 124 points on So What (Pink!) vocals? I didn't even know what was possible.

Hahaha! I *think* that I did the L:RB ESL challenge with no fail vox and just let it run while I worked or slept.

Personally, I could never have it log a score with no-fail on. It would be like cheating to me. So, I guess I'll never have a score for some songs on some instruments. I'm looking at you, Through the Fire and Flames, on guitar.

That's fine, but I'm pretty sure that if I cared enough to erase those scores, I could beat them by legitimately trying once
I'm not much of a singer anyway but I'm pretty proud of my never-quite-5-star score on HMNS next to yours.

HMNS? Tell me what it is and I'll work on that tomorrow.

It's also the top for me (bottom for you?) entry because it has the lowest for me (highest for you?) difference in scores.

I'm in for Jenny and maybe Rollercoaster. Having listened to the songs, the others don't do anything for me at all. But I do appreciate the variety.

The re-record is okay, though.

“867-5309/Jenny” was rerecorded and released on 2010’s Tutone-Ality, which is the version featured in Rock Band.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Looking for opinions.
I want to be able to play the pro guitar and bass parts of songs. I tried to learn guitar once when I was much younger and didn't stick with it. I am really interested in the Squire guitar, but the $250 pricetag is a bit of a deterrent, esp since I'm not sure if I will fully enjoy it or even want to transition into playing a real guitar.
Is the Mustang a decent option? If I like it, I could possibly sell it and put that money towards a Squire. If not, I can just keep the Mustang and use that. Or, should I just bite the bullet and go with the squire?

edit. Just checked completed bids and not 1 of them is under 300, some going as high as 499. You will definitely be able to get your money back I imagine if you don't like it.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
The site rockbandscores.com has been given access to the RB3 API feed, and now has all your RB3 scores (assuming you're connected to web). And in a HUGE development, Star Cutoffs have been added for all Expert songs!!!! You need to click through to each song one at a time so now I just need to figure out an easier way to get the cutoffs from the website into a spreadsheet. Any ideas?
http://www.rockband.com/files/leader...ar-cutoffs.dat
The fields are: cutoff, song id, # stars, instrument id.
The instrument ids are:
0 = drums, 1 = bass, 2 = guitar, 3 = vocals, 4 = harmony, 5 = keys, 6 = pro drums, 7 = pro guitar, 8 = pro bass, 9 = pro keys
This can be combined with the Song ID file to get songs titles. That file is here:
http://www.rockband.com/services.php...all-songs.json
The problem is that this is a JSON file and I can't seem to get it into a standard Excel layout. I tried opening in Excel, Wordpad and Access with no luck. Even after delimiting, the data all appears on row 1. Any suggestions?
