Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
A friend on another forum had these guesstimates (assuming 3 Blitz songs a week).
1/15 - New DLC 1/22 - Blitz songs (~15 left) 1/29 - New DLC 2/05 - Blitz songs (~12 left) 2/12 - New DLC 2/19 - Blitz songs (~9 left) 2/26 - New DLC 3/04 - Blitz songs (~6 left) 3/11 - New DLC 3/18 - Blitz songs (~3 left) 3/25 - New DLC 4/02 - Blitz songs (Done) So, that's not really getting through 'em that quick if it's gonna take 3 months. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I'm thinking that if they are running the tournaments for blitz over the next ten weeks then its going to have to get them all in by then...

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Hey gang,
On January 15th, three tracks from singer-songwriter Rick Springfield are headed to the Rock Band Music Store as part of “Rick Springfield Pack 01”! The pack will include “Jessie’s Girl,” Springfield’s catchy single that went on to become one of the most memory tracks from ‘80s. This Grammy Award-winning song was originally available as part of the soundtrack for Rock Band Blitz, and will now be available as a single track download from the Music Store, or as part of “Rick Springfield Pack 01”. This pack will also include Rick Springfield’s cover of Sammy Hagar’s “I’ve Done Everything for You,” as well as “Don’t Talk to Strangers,” the Grammy-nominated single off of Springfield’s 1982 record, Success Hasn’t Spoiled Me Yet. Additionally, Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades will be available for both “Jessie’s Girl” and “I’ve Done Everything For You”! Available on Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation®3 system (January 15th, 2013): • Rick Springfield – “Jessie’s Girl” O X • Rick Springfield – “I’ve Done Everything For You” X • Rick Springfield – “Don’t Talk to Strangers” O (These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system January 16th) Price: $5.49, £3.19 UK, €3.99 EU (440 Microsoft Points™, 550 Wii Points™) for the “Rick Springfield Pack 01” $1.99 USD, £1.19 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points ™, 200 Wii Points™) per song Tracks marked with “O” feature support for keyboards. ** Dates and Rock Band game tracks are tentative and subject to change. ** For all DLC song credits, including album and genre info as well as difficulty ratings, you can check out the Songs page. HMX puts the spring in Springfield next week! |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Not a lot of Rick Springfield fans around these parts? :) "Jessie's Girl" is pretty much all I need from him.
But I will make one DLC purchase this week. Jerry Lee Lewis's "Great Balls of Fire" is now in the RBN: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/VeRC6nELzqg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> That was unexpected. Nice to have a little more variety in my DLC. |

I have a RB party on 2/9 and would really love to give Harmonix my money. Here's hoping we get a few good (new) songs in the next few weeks. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Hey gang, Four tracks, originally available only as part of Rock Band Blitz, are making their way to the Rock Band Music Store as singles on January 22nd! Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” comes off the powerful singer’s fifth album, 2011’s Stronger, and is her longest-running number one single on the Billboard charts to date! “Cult of Personality,” from Living Colour’s 1988 debut album Vivid won the band a Grammy for “Best Hard Rock Performance,” and features one of the most recognizable and powerful riffs in rock music. Quiet Riot’s metal anthem, “Bang Your Head (Metal Health),” from the band’s 1983 album Metal Health, will also be available. Finally, Soundgarden’s single “Spoonman,” from the band’s fourth studio album Superunknown, rounds out this selection of hits! Additionally, Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades for “Cult of Personality” and “Spoonman” will be available for the first time for these tracks! Available on Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation®3 system (January 22nd, 2013): • Kelly Clarkson – “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” O • Living Colour – “Cult of Personality” X • Quiet Riot – “Bang Your Head (Metal Health)” • Soundgarden – “Spoonman” X (These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system January 23rd) Price: $1.99 USD, £1.19 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points ™, 200 Wii Points™) per song $0.99 USD (80 Microsoft Points™, 100 Wii Points™), £0.59 UK, €0.79 EU per song for eligible Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
You know, any other week and that kind of announcement and variety would have us all creaming our jeans.
I wonder what their sales graphs look like on these duplicate Blitz weeks? I wonder how many sales they get by people forgetting they have them or accidentally doing it. |

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Well, if you buy them from within the game, but there's still the marketplace.
Don't give the average user too much credit ;) /softwaredeveloper |

Woah, I'd totally missed that. The "some" suggesting the end of DLC in the near future includes Harmonix devs:

http://www.rockband.com/forums/showt...=233202&page=7 The manufacture of the peripherals is practically non-existant as is the retail presence of those instruments and RBB was a last-ditch effort to give people a more-accessible means to play DLC and with the burnoff of RBB tracks as weekly DLC and the frequent sales/price drops/promo giveaways I don't get the feeling that it was a success. I think it's a fun game but I think it'll go down in history as a failed experiment. You could say the same thing about RB3; it's the genre's best game but it came out after most lost interest. Hopefully they'll switch to bi-weekly or monthly releases vs. stopping DLC altogether, and I guess there's always RBN if someone really wants their stuff in the game, but the only shocking thing about any of this is that actually managed to pull off the new weekly DLC up until a few weeks ago. |

http://www.rockband.com/forums/showt...=233202&page=7 I understand that they can't offer DLC forever, and they have been offering a steady stream of DLC weekly for over 5 years now...but I would expect more of an official statement on the matter if they were actually planning on stopping. Like a release of sorts on their site, or a notice on the end of some of these DLC announcements. From what I can gather, they just implied it on a couple forum posts, an the only reason it's getting sorta confirmed is some users picked up on the hints and asked about it. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Well, that sucks. I have bought a whole bunch of DLC recently since they did that huge sale and it has gotten me back into playing RB. Fuck Blitz though.
Anyone waiting on certain songs or packs to go on sale before buying? I have been waiting what seems like forever for the Billy Joel packs to go on sale and they have yet to. I wonder if we will see any songs being pulled from the marketplace when they start the "sabbatical?" |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Looks like this is the last call as far as DLC goes.
Man this makes me really sad, like a good friend is going away and not coming back... My hopes for RB4 are gone as well after thinking about how much it would cost HMX to get something developed for the new consoles, re licensing every single track for export yet again for a genre that only core players are committed to. Their new IP would have to turn out to be something really successful for any hope of funding future RB titles. Time to be thinking about what to do once the final announcement is made it seems. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
So, is the kickstarter-esque DLC dead? Seems that Harmonix could allow DLC to continue by putting it in the hands of other groups that could license, code, and release additional songs.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
So an "In Memorium" discussion?
What 3 artists that aren't already in RB would you like to see before RB closes up shop? 1. Kenny Wayne Shepherd 2. Queensryce 3. Tesla |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
1) Bruce Springsteen
2) Eric Clapton 3) Neil Young Note : I chose artists who contributed to other rhythm games -- where it was within the realm of possibility that they could appear in Rock Band. They aren't suddenly going to get U2 or Led Zep tracks, though they'd be high on my list as well. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I don't really like delving into the whole death thing, but I'll contribute with three artists I really want to see in RB or RBN.
1)Tom Cochrane/Red Rider 2)Danger Danger 3)Weird Al |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Has anyone ever suggested Muse to them?
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
What is the timeframe for getting RBN songs on the PS3? My daughter loves Dir En Grey and I noticed that there were a couple tracks released on the 360, one mid-Nov and another last month.
