Just bought 4000 points at Amazon for $46.54 less than 12 hours ago, so you're welcome!

Thanks to both of you. That card will take care of most of my SotA purchases.

Word. I picked up two even though I'm driving by a Hasting's tomorrow where they're 25% off. I'll still swing in and grab a few and maybe dump a 4k one off on a friend that needs some. At least I'm covered if they don't have any in stock or on sale. Going into the B&M is a safety net in case these Buy ones don't show up by Monday afternoon so I can get HC:U on sale.

Edit: Just realized there's no way in hell it's coming by Monday since that's a holiday.

Swung by http://rewards.xbox.com/ today for my July survey and saw this ad. I don't know when it started or when it ends, but I'm assuming it's the month of July. Should stack nicely with SoA and Ms. Splosion Man and all that jazz. Would be amazing if they allowed multiple redemptions, but 200 back is still something.

I was browsing through that list and noticed the Ghostbusters game. I don't remember that even coming out. Was there any buzz about it here?

Still haven't gotten BG&E but imagine a specific sale would beat this deal on older titles.

Right, this deal is going to be for the hot newness games or deals that don't drop below 800 points.

Ghostbusters was panned widely. Don't look directly at the trap.

I got it for free from the Taiwan SNAFU when it came out and it felt like a ripoff just for the time spent setting up the TW account for the free download.

Horrible horrible game! I didn't know anyone could fuck up a twin-stick "shooter" and make it completely unfun, but they sure did.

Perfect timing with Torchlight going on sale for 800 points next week.

Do you have to do anything for the 200 points kickback, or does it just automatically occur like the regular monthly kickback if you qualify?

I posted everything they posted on it. I assume it's automagic, just like I assume it's for July only AND I assume even 800+ point games on weekly discount count.

Do Steam purchases count? Is this new releases only? What if I use a discount code? What if I use points I got from a previous kickback? What if I return a game and buy it back? What if I buy one game on my account and another on my wife's?

As far as I'm concerned, those are all covered scenarios.

I think I may have to bite on the X-Men Arcade and Lara Croft deals. Both are really tempting.

I've almost bought Lara Croft twice during previous sales, but something has held me back. Not sure what. May as well just bite the bullet, and stop being a cheapass.

Re: The official Xbox Live Arcade/Indie Games/Game Room Thread of Space Bucks for Fun

So I bought 2 4,000 point cards at 20% off from Buy's deal the other day not knowing if I could get to a Hasting's for their 25% deal. But I did and I bought 6 1,600 point cards there.

So in the last 3 days, I've spent $170 on $220 worth of points. It sucks that deals are so few and far between that I feel like I have to stock up this way. Still, these 17,600 points should last me a while

Now to play some Hard Corps: Uprising...

If you were Shagrath, I'd say that will last you a month or two. One of the benefits of having a huge backlog of arcade games is that you never feel like you can't wait for a sale.

Buying all that RB content definitely puts a dent in my wallet. Just bought some more points on Friday, since I had a K-Mart gaming coupon that was expiring and couldn't think of anything else to buy. Currently edging out pinata's total with 22950 pts.

Anyone check out Dead Block this morning? I just downloaded it and only got to the Tutorial before my boy woke up and I had to get him ready. It seems to be like the CoD Zombie modes, but with a Team Fortress/ Monday Night Combat art style. Nothing earth-shattering, but if it has online co-op (and I assume it must), it might be a nice diversion for those who love that Zombie mode game. Seems reasonable for 800 points if it has enough gameplay. Couldn't really tell from the Tutorial. Will check out more later.

Also, there was another stealth XBLA release today. Bobble Head MLB or something like that. Probably total crap, but didn't check it out yet.

Anyone check out the indie game called Fatal Seduction? It was pretty disturbing actually.

Re: The official Xbox Live Arcade/Indie Games/Game Room Thread of Space Bucks for Fun

Finally checked out Galaga: Legions DX today. Played the first while it downloaded then immediately played it when it was done.

Wow... $10 to turn Legions into a twin stick shooter. Enemy patterns were almost identical on the first level. I thought the Satellite ships in the first was a unique way to keep the game interesting and challenging at the same time. Dumbing it down and making it a twin stick shooter was a terrible idea.

I still haven't beat the first, but despite the challenge it felt a whole lot more fun to me.

Ms Splosion Man Trial (Beta) a week early for those who didn't get it earlier. Link

And I agree with you, Corvin, that Galaga demo did nothing for me. Of course I bought the previous game right away and then like never played it again. So maybe I'm not the best judge. But it wasn't a very fun demo, that's for sure.
