I doubt they going to bother releasing Elite at all because they gotta start from scratch again.

No career mode for NBA Jam = no sale

Re: NBA Live Being Renamed NBA Elite.
In a way I salute them for delaying the game. They know that with the rebrand they will likely only have 1 final shot with fans before they write off the series forever and side with the NBA2K series, so I like that they are holding off on releasing garbage just to pick up some early sales.
On the other hand I can't imagine this game selling very much in January. Most people (especially holiday shoppers) will be picking up NBA2K since it's the only game available. |

On the flip side, a standalone release of NBA Jam will probably net EA a lot of sales given the interest for it. Since i'm a NBA 2K player, that makes me happy. |
Re: NBA Live Being Renamed NBA Elite.
They need a full year of development to try to make a solid game, they likely going to go straight to working on Elite 12/Live 12 or whatever name they come up with with a release date for Oct 2011

Re: NBA Live Being Renamed NBA Elite.
If you read the link that I posted, it says if you own NBA Live 10, they will offer roster updates for the new 2010-11 season. I don't know if that is going to make a world of difference thought as most NBA gamers are going to be buying 2K11 next week and probably dumping Live or 2K10 or letting them gather dust on their shelves.

Re: NBA Live Being Renamed NBA Elite.
Not really pertinent to NBA Elite, but EA Sports has already posted the roster update for the 2010-11 season for NBA Live 10. If you still have your game and when you automatically log into the EA Servers, the update will download.
I checked all the teams and all the major player moves are there and even including rookies. I guess this is supposed to fill in for EA's delay with Elite 11. I'm playing as the LA Lakers and the update is pretty spot on including rookies Derrick Caracter and Devin Ebanks. |
Re: NBA Live Being Renamed NBA Elite.
I don't know the exact chronology, but somehow OXM managed to include a review of NBA Elite 11 in their latest issue. They gave it a 5.5 and said it was a mess and controlled poorly. Biggest plus was NBA Jam, which they loved.

Re: NBA Live Being Renamed NBA Elite.
I know some NBA Elite 11 leaked into retail. There were a few copies on EBAY, and apparently the code to D/L NBA Jam worked.

Re: NBA Live Being Renamed NBA Elite.
And NBA Elite has been canned by EA. Must have been a real turd to not make it to store shelves.

Re: NBA Live Being Renamed NBA Elite.
With shit like the Andrew Bynum Jesus glitch, who could blame them?

Re: NBA Live Being Renamed NBA Elite.
^^ That looks like a typical Pistons offensive set.

Re: NBA Live Being Renamed NBA Elite.
I'm not exactly sure how that's any different from Bynum's actual contributions this season.
