It's $45 + tax with free shipping at Dell. I'm seriously tempted.

I did see where you can go to the blizzard site now and download the SC2 installer and then buy an access code from blizzard next tuesday so you never have to even get the game box

Will this game run on my shitty laptop? The last games I played on here were Diablo II and Counter-Strike. CS, run at a low resolution, ran well but not great.

From what I've read the game is very flexible. You should find a friend who got the Collectors Edition. The CE comes with two passes they can give out so their friends can try the game for 7 hours.

PC Minimum System Requirements*:
* Windows® XP/Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 (Updated with the latest Service Packs) with DirectX® 9.0c
* 2.6 GHz Pentium® IV or equivalent AMD Athlon® processor
* 128 MB PCIe NVIDIA® GeForce® 6600 GT or ATI Radeon® 9800 PRO video card or better
* 12 GB available HD space
* 1 GB RAM (1.5 GB required for Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 users)
* DVD-ROM drive
* Broadband Internet connection
* 1024X720 minimum display resolution
I shoulda googled it first. I think those requirements are beyond my laptop. The graphic card and ram requirement are too much for me.

I'm picking mine up at lunch tomorrow. Should be a blast. I finished the original game but never finished the expansion pack.

I'm kind of on the fence on this game. I've never really been interested in RTS games, but I also wasn't into MMO's before WOW. If anyone has a guest pass they would like to send me I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

if so, that is sweet. We can't play at the same time, obviously, unless we each had our own copy. But, if it does come with 2 keys, that is nice.

So does that mean if I download the digital copy I can install it both on my PC and my Macbook Pro? Obviously, only one can be played at any given time which isn't a problem.

I'm going to guess the two passes are essentially key's to download a timed demo. I doubt they are linked to your copy of the game at all.
Liver&Onions, like most games that are Mac & PC, I don't think you have to worry about having to download a digital copy. Just use the install disc, install on the Mac and then the PC... obviously you can't play at the same time, but them's the brakes. I doubt the game saves will be sycned though, although maybe you can use Dropbox for that.

You enter the key under a Battle.net account that you have or newly create and either D/L the free trial client from Blizz or install from your friends DVD. Its good for 7 hours of game time.

I would imagine getting a hard copy would be the best bet. If you lose your hard copy, you can always download the digital copy and enter your key in the future. (Just make sure to write that key down! I'll be storing mine in 1Password!)

I believe all new blizzard games will be registered automatically once you install and enter the cd-key. They did this retroactively with WoW accounts last year once they linked the WoW logins to the new battle.net login. When you go to your battlenet account, you can register older games like SC1, D2, and WC3. I did not have to register my WoW account. I believe sc2 will do the same and be automatically registered once you install and enter the cd-key. You will then be able to download the client directly from battle.net in the future.

Yes, that's true. I have D2, War3, and Starcraft 1 all listed under my account and easily downloadable. It's pretty nice, like Steam.
