Super Mario Crossover
Someone at Newsground did this incredible Flash game were you can use either Mario, Link, Billy from Contra, Simon Belmon, Mega Man or Samus on the original Super Mario Bros side scroll game.
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/534416 It's pretty addictive. |
Re: Super Mario Crossover

Re: Super Mario Crossover
That's pretty cool. I figured it was just going to be the look of the character, not the actual powers too.

Re: Super Mario Crossover
dude!!!! samus takes her suit off when you get fireballs and it is wave beam...that was awesome!!! and retains music and sound effects from Metroid!
thanks dx!! |
Re: Super Mario Crossover
This is pretty unbelievable. The way each character retains their own movements and weapons. Wow. What a great idea and super fun to play.

Re: Super Mario Crossover
Yeah, we've been goofing around on this at work today. It's crazy that people can do cool stuff like this with NES games in Flash.

Re: Super Mario Crossover
The funny thing is that I always wanted something like this since I was a kid. I wanted to see how Link would fare on a Mario world and vice versa. These guys took this idea to the max.

Re: Super Mario Crossover
This is incredible, I feel like going through and beating the game with each character...very, very cool

Re: Super Mario Crossover
I may need to find my old PC game controller so I can really enjoy this thing (if that works).
|
Re: Super Mario Crossover
Awesome concept and execution, but I'd guess some of the later levels with precise jumping would be hell with some of those characters.
|
Re: Super Mario Crossover
Great game but how long till Nintendo pulls it?
|
Re: Super Mario Crossover
Is there a way to download flash games?

However, this game may only take keyboard input, so you may need Xpadder or the like to map the commands. |
Re: Super Mario Crossover
Thanks for posting, this was pretty cool. When I have more free time I'll probably play through more levels with the different characters.
My favourite part though, is that you can beak bricks you otherwise couldn't with Mario. I remember when I was a kid thinking how cool it would be to break all the bricks, and now I'm finally able to! |

You need a player to play it, but there are a number of free ones. It looks like you can just open it with your browser and that works too. |
Re: Super Mario Crossover
Is it the .swf file?
|
Re: Super Mario Crossover
You know I've been searching for days for a way to make this fullscreen on my PC. Does anyone know how to do this?
|
Re: Super Mario Crossover
It's the one that ends with _SmbcPreloader.swf.
|
Re: Super Mario Crossover
That's awesome. TBH, though, the subject line made me think this was a new Mario basketball franchise...this is much cooler, though!

If Nintendo is smart, they will buy these guys out and publish this as Wii Ware.
