Which game to get? Just Cause 2 vs. Splinter Cell: Conviction
 

I'm debating which one to pick up. I know Just Cause 2 has a wonderful and beautiful open world, with a lot to see and... well... blow up. Apparently after messing around with the physics for a few hours, it seems that there's not much there to really do.

As for Splinter Cell... I've always loved the concept of the game, yet I've never been too good at sneaking around. I loved the originals elements of hiding bodies and hanging above pipes to break a guys neck, which I know are not part of it anymore... Sad. :( It seems kind of dumbed down... but is it dumbed down in a way that helps the game (Mass Effect 2) or hurts the game (Deus Ex 2)? I do like the idea of playing it as if I were Jack Bauer.

I've played the demo's for both and enjoyed them both thoroughly, and the reviews seem to favor them both.

It's up to you guys! Which one should I pick up?

I would pick Splinter Cell because it has a deeper story and better gameplay(from what I've seen)

Voted for Splinter Cell.

I don't like open world games. At first, it's interesting to explore. But eventually that gets old and you're just driving around looking for stuff to do.

Get Just Cause 2. Splinter Cell will drop in price quick as all Ubisoft games do.

Just Cause 2 is one of the best games I have played this year, and is a top 5 open world game. You can not go wrong with it. Splinter Cell looks fantastic, but as said above, it will drop in price. I can not really say what to get though, since I have not played Splinter cell yet, but it is on sale at kmart next week for 39.99...

Buy Just Cause 2 and rent/wait for Splinter Cell: Conviction. Just Cause 2 will take you literally days worth of time to complete whereas I hear the Splinter Cell single play through can be done in a handful of hours. (The co-op will boost that up a bit, but not enough IMO.) Then again, if you got bored with the gameplay in JC2 from the demo, then maybe it's not for you either. I'm loving it though. Coming up on 30 hours of play for me and I think I'm still under 20% completion. :lol:

You guys have a good point about Splinter Cell being so short... However it will be 30 bucks at Kmart this week... I may have to end up getting both anyway. Damnit!

If you are a customer...it is 39.99...so yeah 40...but if you work in retail, it is "30somethin"

I loved those retail discounts when I was at Best Buy, unfortunately I had to trade those in for a professional job with... benefits, eugh!
