And this game is really fun. 800 points is a very fair price.

That's what I did my first few times through.

If you want to be much lamer: since character stats aren't saved when you play as a guest, you can also start the store part of the first stage with two controllers, walk into a store, transfer your money from the guest character to your primary player, and then dump out to the map. Exit the game, do the same thing, and your main character will have all this new money and the guest won't have lost anything. It's super-super-cheap, but if you're just trying to level up, that's a fast and easy way to do it. (I didn't clue into this until my fifth time through, I think. :))

That seems more like cheating though...and I don't have a second controler.

Re: Scott Pilgrim: The Video Game

I am still trying to decide on the demo. It seems like moving my character is a little sketchy. Sometimes I press the stick all the way in a direction and it is a slow-paced mosey and other times the character runs. I tried switching to the d-pad and it is more or less the same. Am I totally missing something? Later on, does upgrading the speed solve some of those issues?

Re: Scott Pilgrim: The Video Game

That's a toggle-able option. If you push the stick fast, you run. If you do a traditional double-tap, you run. You can disable the first in settings.

Lovely, thanks for the info. I really liked what I played but the movement thing was maddening. I assumed I missed some instructions somewhere.

I finally finished a run through with Scott. Playing through with Ramona now, and had 3 of us playing the other night for a couple hours.. It's fun, but the floaty controls still bother me, and the depth of the plane can be annoying. As far as beat em ups go, Castle Crashers is better, but the novelty of playing with these characters is entertaining :)

Sex Bob-omb got signed to a million dollar record contract, played to precisely 65,536 fans, and money started flowing down from the ceiling for whatever reason.

You get the joke, right? 65,536 is 216... 16-bit... like the Super Nintendo.

Can't say about the 360, but it completely locked up my PS3 a few times, and a few other times, I'd have to quit the current level and go back to the map after being 'locked' into an area.

It was built in Flash, so... not really a surprise. Flash takes so much CPU that the console overheats and locks up.

Honestly, there's absolutely nothing confusing or complicated about what's going on in Scott Pilgrim, at least for someone coming up through the NES era (which this obviously owes an enormous debt to...).

Speaking of that, off the top of my head some references include Super Mario World (world map), Super Mario Bros. 2 (Subspace doors, picking up enemies, pulling turnips in level 6), Super Mario Kart (Rainbow Road in Subspace), Mega Man (energy drink, part of level 5 is modeled after Drill Man's stage from Mega Man 4), and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade (like, all of level 7 is based on the final level).

Did anyone here have a problem getting the "Chaudown" trophy/achievement? It's the one for calling all the various strikers. I've exhausted all options since I've done all 15 combinations all on Supreme difficulty and nothing.

Have you unlocked Mr. Chau? If you have, just keep mashing the 'call striker' button over and over again. Mrs. Chau very infrequently pops up in the striker rotation. As soon as she appears, you'll probably get the achievement.

Re: Scott Pilgrim: The Video Game

I've done that with all 5 characters (hence the 15 ;)). There are lots of reports of glitches across both versions. Hadn't heard any issues here though.

Any word on if they will patch this for online play? I sure hope so as it would be nice to smash some faces with some of you guys.

I got the achievement by calling the default striker once with each character, unlocking Mr. Chau with Scott only (didn't do it for any other character), and then mashing the striker button until Knives, Mr. Chau, and Mrs. Chau appeared. As soon as Mrs. Chau popped up, the achievement icon did too.

Sucks for me. I've had the worst luck with this game, but I enjoyed every second of it.

Fine, I'll play. Mine is celebrating being the opposite of you and is also totally awesome.

Edited to add the bolded part clear up any confusion. I was not trying to say I was also the opposite of totally awesome. Fuck...
