For some inexplicable reason, that yellow Pikachu 3DS XL is tempting me... despite the fact that I'm not particularly fond of yellow, that I would be even more embarrassed to play it in public, and that I don't think my digital purchases would be easy to move off of my current XL.

Anyone have kids that play with their DS/3DS's? What age do they usually start picking that kind of stuff up?

My soon to be 5 year old kicks all sorts of ass on his 3DS... it's scary how resilient he is already. I'm so proud

my four and seven year old both rock on their 3DS--got the pink XL for my daughter a bit ago so i think i'm gonna trade my son's 3DS in to Target and get him the Pikachu XL--Target's gonna have all 3DS XL for $159.99 starting 3/24

I think it just depends on how soon you let them play video games. My daughter started playing skylanders / kingdom of keflings when she was 3. She also played some wappy dog game on the ds. I haven't really let her play many games on the ds though. I suppose since I let her use the Wii U controller, I should probably let her use the ds / 3ds since they're worth less...

Let us know how much Target gives you for the 3DS. I traded in my cosmo black 3DS to Amazon for $80.
I am going to pick up a 3DS XL at the Target sale next week. I do wish they had an all black XL instead of two tone for every model.

The XL is such a massive improvement over the original, I can't wait. Will probably pick up Fire Emblem: Awakening soon too.

Nintendo is running some kind of promotion where if you register a 3DS and either Luigi's Mansion or the new Pokemon game, you get a free game download from the eShop.

I know Super Mario Land 3D, a newer Professor Layton and StarFox were the highlights of the free games available.

Getting it and a red 3DS XL for $159.99 from Target. I might have gone with the LE Pikachu one but they didn't offer it online and frankly I didn't like the look of it that much.

Bought a red 3DS XL at Target today. Still have until late April too see if I want to buy Luigi's Mansion and get the free game.
Right now I am finishing Super Mario Land 3D from my old 3DS and I really want to get Fire Emblem Awakening.

The larger screens make the 3D effect soo much easier on the eyes.

Oh, fuck it, I think I'll grab the XL and Luigi's Mansion and get the Professor Layton game for free.

Also it's worth noting that Toys R Us is running a B1G1 40% off deal on all video games right now, so I might pick up Fire Emblem as well.

Got the system, got Luigi's Mansion, I also picked up the 3DS Epic Mickey game from TRU while I was there (along with a 360 title for the 40% off). Registered both, got the Professor Layton game, and just finished the system transfer.

I downloaded Fire Emblem: Awakening last night. I'm usually not a big fan of digital downloads of games but:

- no store around here has it
- I don't trade games in (since what they give you is embarassing)
- I don't normally borrow/loan portable games with friends (as opposed to PS3 games which we always trade back and forth)

So I guess we'll see how it goes. I guess of all the systems to have digital games of, the portable system is the one, haha.

Picked up Luigi from the eshop yesterday. Super fun game so far. I'm on the 5th section of the first mansion.

Luigi is fantastic. I do miss the "people" ghosts, but the generic ones are fine.
