There's no way to ask you a question without you getting mad and offended, but why buy everything at once? Like couldn't you have bought three games and seen what you wanted after that?
And did you buy used games? That would have been smart.

I was going to tell you about the Voucher program but you bought $500-$600 worth of games before even asking which games you should get.

To be fair, the vouchers are mostly only good for newer games.

My last purchase(s) were: Zelda: Echoes and Prince of Persia. I haven't had time to start either.

I knew which games I wanted and got them all using credit. What’s the big deal? These games were all new to me and wanted to start collection off nicely. Once I hit the purchase button for Switch, I was all the way in. Arriving at 7am I was almost assured I wouldn’t be able to cancel. And, it was all on credit. Still have a few hundred. I won’t open all games, so anything returnable really. But, it was my b-day and thought I’d splurge.

Actually I think they're good for ALL (or at least most) full priced, first-party Nintendo Switch games, going back to launch titles.

Yeah the more I play the more I realize the less time I have to play, I don't see myself buying a game any time soon with just Disney Speedstorm and Disney Dreamlight Valley (I have spent $50 on Dreamlight Valley this year but that expansion just came out today so I have barely played it, that will be tons of time until a year from now and the next expansion and I spend $8 a month on DSS for the tournament pass). I realized along the way that if I just buy brand new games at full price but then play them til completion and do side quests etc. and only buy one at a time, I still spend less money than buying a bunch of games on sale I'll never have the time to get to. I have like 131 games on my Steam Wishlist. I have 30 months of gamepass (10 cards of three months each I got at $21 per card) but I wait until I have 7-8 games I have piled up that I'm interested in to turn one on (still haven't used one) because I don't want to waste a whole 3 months on a game I play for five minutes.

The vouchers are good for older games too but they are "more" worth it for newer games that have not had other discounts (as meager as first party discounts are) for sure. Like even if you love, let's say, Bayonetta Origins, I wouldn't recommend getting it with a voucher.

What is kind of astonishing about OldBoy buying all these switch games is that it's right next to Black Friday and he's basically ignoring the majority of the deals to be had. Like this is a fantastic time to get a switch and some games on discount. But more power to him.

No, it wasn't free. If you hadn't gotten it you could have gotten another game. It cost you another full release day game. I won't pre-order anymore, I want reviews first. And at least a patch or two.

And the reviews are great. All bad news are technical related and will be fixed in a patch or two.

Exactly. If you are using credit or gift cards the cost of something is not "free" since the credit has monetary value.

I've not been especially bowled over by the pre-Black Friday deals so far. (To be fair, there are plenty of good prices; just for stuff I don't want or already own.) Aside from the pre-pre-Black Friday deals like Stellar Blade and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, the only thing I've picked up is Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League (yeah, I know, I know) for $18 from Best Buy this morning.
