For those that already have the game...
Which multiplayer modes can you play without another human player, that is, with bot(s)? Last stand, Hunter, etc.?
Thank you.

Last stand, Hunter and Infiltration (unlocked with Uplay points) are all playable solo through Deniable ops; the only modes that require 2 players are Coop story and face off.

Man, I was like whatever to this game. I've never played SC, and didn't see any reason to start now. However, after playing the demo, this is just like Batman: AA with different toys?!? Badass. I'm ordering a copy now.

Taken directly from a CAG post. Nice little bonus for all:
The Splinter Cell Conviction Collector's Edition USB Content is up on SplinterCell.com. This was made available for free because the USB drives that were supposed to contain this content on the SCC CE were found to be defective. Select 'News' and the link is right there, or click here for a direct download. The file is almost 500mb, so its pretty full of goodies.
Most of the file size comes from the 'Making Of' documentary that, while being a little outdated ('marks' for mark and execute are circles instead of the chevron shape that made it into the game, and the release date is said to be 2/23/10), is still pretty good. There are also some nice renders, wallpapers, comic, etc. Definitely worth the FREE price of admission.
Thank you Ubisoft Montreal!!

Beat it in an afternoon. Lots of fun. Can't wait to get into Co-op and Infiltration. Loved being really sneaky.

I just started playing it today. I like how the instructions for actions become part of the scenery -- very stylish. Also the B&W = Hidden mechanic is very intuitive and much better than those old visibility bars.

Finished it last night on Realistic. VERY cool overall. Great storyline--not that long but very fast-paced so it never stops moving.

Finished single player in less than a day and have been playing the bonus modes solo.
How's the co-op story? I'm not digging what I see for multiplayer as a good substitute for Spys vs. Mercs. I'm on the fence as to whether I should keep it or return it and get my money back save for $3.50.

At the end I
Anyone not do that, and if so, what happens?
I like the bonus modes but really dislike how it doesn't save your progress. On the first one I went through 3 waves, but when I picked it up later it just starts over. Haven't even tried multiplayer yet. Is it OK to just jump in, because it seems like it may be better if you're doing it w/someone you know...?

So has everyone seen this UPLAY stuff they've implemented. It's kind of cool : Getting certain Achievements also net you UPLAY points that can be spent on things like (Non-premium) Themes, In-game wapons and gear and new play modes. Not much yet (they designate this UPLAY beta now), but I imagine more stuff is coming soon.
Must be what they're referring to here:

almost done with single player, and like someone said above, this really is like Batman!!!! Not as good, but if you thought the best part of Batman was the stealth and planning, this game is for you...

Re: Splinter Cell: Conviction (4/13 on X360) [Demo Out Now]
finished single player....some things of note
I played it on Realistic and found it to be very easy...most times you die, it was just because you were not expecting to be jumped, and the next time you could get into position better....
I hate to harp on Batman, but if you hated Splinter Cell games in the past, and liked Batman, you need to give this a try...it is not as good as Batman, but close, and I still have the co-op modes to do which might raise this game to Batman AA's level.
I have heard this game is 4-5 hours long for the single player, but I did not find this at all. I took a solid 8 hours to finish, and I play sort of fast and usually match or beat game length estimates. I did not stand around waiting to much, and while I died a lot, I don't think it was excessive. I really can't see how someone could beat this on realistic in 4 hours the first time they played it...
Really a surprise...and this year just continues to blow last year out of the water with the quality of games....of just the games I have played so far this year we have
Just Cause 2
Bad Company 2
Bioshock 2
Mass Effect 2
Splinter Cell Conviction...
all solid games that would hold up any year...seems to be the year of the 2's though...

Anyone having problems getting through co-op story.
The few times I've connected with someone from the beginning, they quit five minutes into the match, especially if I'm taking out guys right and left.

Finally played through a co-op story with someone tonight, although I had to send them a nasty message to quit running away from the terminals when they were hacking.
I loved the ending of the co-op story, but wish the whole thing was a little longer. I'm going to play around a little more tomorrow and then probably return the game since I can get 90% of the purchase price back if I return it by Sat. This is definitely a game I'll rebuy down the line once I see all the extra stuff they add in, but right now, there's not much left to keep me going.

I rented this from Gamefly, should be here today. I did the same with Alan Wake. I guess I just got nervous about people telling me both games were super short.

This game is coming down in price, and I would highly recommend picking it up. If you have a friend to do the coop missions, I found those more fun than single player....(besides the 4 fucking computer downloads on realistic...ugh)

I finished it earlier today. Alot of fun, but I am glad I didn't buy it. I would have traded it in right after I was done.

Re: Splinter Cell: Conviction (4/13 on X360) [Demo Out Now]
So weird I had typed up a post and when I hit post it took me to a blank page and didn't post my reply. Anyway I just finished the single player story mode over the weekend and it's a lot of fun despite the shortness of the story. Even after finishing the story mode I had only unlocked 21 of the 45 achievements so I might dive into the Deniable Ops and Co-Op modes sometime this week before taking it to trade in.
So regarding the end, did anyone else re-load the last checkpoint and do it differently to unlock the other achievement? I did, I know it's a pretty cheap way to pick it up but I didn't want to have to play through the entire story again just to get it!
