did a search, i don't think there is a thread...

Anyone try out the demo? I did and got quite dizzy. I really wanted to like it and love the idea of flying around and shooting. very free flying and controls seem very responsive, but i think too loose for my taste.

i thought it was really hard to get into and maneuver accurately because it was so loose and the tiniest push really did steer you easily, but i got twisted and turned around so easily. hard to describe...

really got me dizzy which i suppose is the point to feel very realistic, but i dunno.

what does everyone else think?

The flight controls were a bit like IRON MAN so that's not good. I eventually got use to IM's controls but I'm not even sure I'd give Dark Void another chance.

The flying in the demo made me really, really dislike this game. I doubt I will ever get this, even at 10 bucks. The frustration would cost me more in the long run

I played it back in Sept and liked it, I'm gonna fire up the full game in a bit and try it out. It's probably a generic shooter....with a jet pack!

Had it pre-ordered...until I tried the demo. I'll get it when it's bargain-priced, maybe.

Put me down for as another guy who didn't care for the demo - playing this for 10 minutes was annoying, I can't imagine playing it for 10 hours.

Unfortunately Amazon had already shipped my copy before I saw these reviews. And let me add to chorus, the game is pretty bad.

The shooting on the ground reminded me of Dark Sector, and everything else looks like a poor mans Uncharted. I think I played 3-4 chapters and only flew once, in the prologue. I did get the jet pack back and was hovering, but then I got killed and just turned it off.

Just turned it back on, and its starting to pick up some. I admit the vertical combat is pretty cool, as long as I dont throw up, lol. Seems to be a fast game, im already on chapter 6. At some points in the game, I found I could just hover to the checkpoint rather than shooting enemies.

the demo made me dizzy and so many developers requesting Nolan North use his "everyman" voice is getting old.

I played the demo and thought it was pretty good. It was no different than a flight WWII game as the the flying was good enough. Ill get this, for less than $20

I think the game is far far far away from great overall, but the inclusion of the vertical combat/cover is definitely something new, and plays well. The first time I came across it though it gave me a hardcore headache. Moving upwards seems to be much less disorienting though.

Just got to the actual jetpack part (basically the demo level) so I'll see how that goes, but I don't have high hopes for me grasping the controls too well.

That irks me quite a bit as he's got a pretty good vocal range. Just listen to him as Raphael in TMNT, his brief second character performance as Abbas in Assassin's Creed, and when he did the hand puppets bit in Uncharted 2.

I will take Nolan North doing the same voice in every video game over bad voice acting anyday. I really don't care that I've heard it before, at least I know there will be inflection, emotion, and it won't suck.

Though you'd have to think there are at least two actors in Hollywood capable of doing competent video game voice-over work.

The entire cast of the Uncharted and Ratchet & Clank franchises are proof that videogames can have good acting. Sadly, it doesn't happen as often as it should.
