Playing XBox 360 games online without XBoxLive

I know it's possible, but the options I've tried haven't worked right so far. Whenever I try to use xbconnect, it never recognizes my console, and whenever I try and load Kai, it never seems to enter the program, it just loads the webpage and the options it describes to setup to play don't apply. Is there an easier way for connecting to games without using XBox Live?

Is it really to much trouble to pay $35 for a whole year of hassle free online gaming? Just go to Amazon and pick it up.

No, it's too much trouble to buy a new Xbox because mine got banned for being modded, lol. I'm a college student working part-time, I don't have enough money for the service and paying $60 for games.

Oh, in that case, let me express how much sympathy I have for you : >.<

By the way, do they still teach about piracy laws in college?

Seems like it would be cheaper to buy legitimate games used or a couple months after release, and definitely easier than screwing around with hacking your box and "workarounds" to get online. The only reasons to buy a game new, full price, on or immediately after release date are if you just want to play it soon, or to play online while it's still the big thing - which can't be done with a hacked box.

Not to mention much more moral, ethical, and decent.

Well, I'm a Biology major, so not in the classes I've taken. But I'll check the college catalogue tonight.
