Re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
So I went to one Target, all they had left was a single 4GB with Kinect. I have a Kinect, need more space than that, and have the games it came with. But I bought it anyway, thinking I'd be able to do something with storage. 125.xx after the discounts (they automatically rung up the 10% extra).
She called another couple stores, they didn't have any. I checked Target.com and it said another store about 10 miles away had them "in stock" (ironically, right next door to where I had dinner last night), and another store right near there had 1 left. Went to the store, found 1 lone 500GB unit. Bought it - 85.xx after the discounts (they automatically rang up the 10% as well, and the cartwheel coupon worked again, which I was a little worried about.) Returned the Kinect one to that store. Driving home I realized that the store I went to, was the "1 left" store, not the 'In stock' store - so I was lucky they still had it. (And while return the 4GB one, the cashier said "Oh, I told someone we didn't have any more" so I'm glad i didn't call.) Anyway - long story short - I got the 500Gb Forza bundle (a game I don't have, if the download code still works). And the disk drive on my current console still doesn't work. And bonus - this console is wifi, so I can pull in the thirty foot ethernet cable across my living room. Now to work on the transfer. Questions: 1 - I tried going to "Transfer Content -> Cloud". It shows Cloud as an option with 1.9 GB free, but won't let me select it. Does that mean there's too much content to transfer? Could be - sometimes I don't delete saves, and some games I create new every time. If so I can certainly go through and delete all but one save on all games. 2 - There are 2 active profiles on this console. Do I need to sign into each one and do them separately? 3 - i have a 4GB USB stick - can/should use that to transfer content? I theoretically could have both consoles hooked up at one time but would prefer not to have to do that. But if it makes it easier to get everything I certainly will. edit: Or I could just make it easier. Gamestop near me has a transfer cable for 15$, I'll just try to borrow one from a neighbor or buy that one. |

I do have Gold, for at least another couple weeks.
I borrowed a transfer cable. Took about an hour an a half to transfer but I have a fully working console again. Now to hunt down a second guitar since my backup one died a while back... |
Re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Nice. I need a new 360 too. My disc drive has to have a disc in at all times to work and now the controllers are constantly disconnecting.

What is the price of XBox 360 nowadays?

Re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
The 360 was discontinued more than 2 years ago, so you're unlikely to find a new one in stores.

Re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
There are some on Amazon that still have some Retail-new-in-the-box systems but they're asking what you can get a XB1 for. Lots of used offers and even that model they came out with that looks like a XB1...Xbox 360-E or something like that. Appears the used prices are in the $70-$90 range. I still have my Elite Model.

I’m kind of tempted just in case my current 360 ever RRODs.

Re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
does the XBOX 360 controller with rechargeable battery charge when the machine is off? thanks.
i had to set this up again just to play one freaking game that is not backwards compatible. ugh! |
Re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
That sucks. The 360 I used for Rock Band parties does the same thing with not reading discs, but it'll usually succeed after 10 or so tries.
And yes, it should charge fine while the 360 is off. |

Re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
title of the video should be "the last Xbox 360 MODEL ever made..." but y'know... clickbait. ;)
A nice retrospective of the last version released. I have the black one, not this fancy-ass blue one. It still works great, honestly, and I use it from time to time to play games that never got supported by the Xbox One or Series X. Still need to finish The Saboteur! |
Re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I had two 360’s. My first one got the Red Ring of Death. Replaced it with an Elite model and as far as I know it still works. It’s been years since I’ve played it though.

Re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I had the license plate MS XB 360, when we got a new car last year my wife didn't want the plate to switch over, "because it's childish". :(
And couple of friends and I had a short lived podcast where we took a look back on the 15 years of the 360. Wasn't very entertaining to listen to, but we had a lot of fun recording the episodes. |

Xbox 360 Marketplace to See More Than 40 Games Delisted From Next Week
Microsoft has announced that it's delisting more than 40 games from the Xbox 360 Marketplace later this month, beginning as soon as next week. Select entries in the Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Far Cry, Mass Effect, and Splinter Cell series are among the titles being removed from the store on Xbox 360. You will, however, still be able to download and play any games you've already purchased following the delisting, simply by visiting the Download History on your Xbox 360 console, and you'll still be able to buy any backwards compatible games from the respective Microsoft Stores on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. “These titles will no longer be purchasable on the Xbox 360 Store only, and titles that are available to be purchased on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S Stores will remain purchasable," a spokesperson for Xbox told Gematsu. “You will still be able to play discs or previously downloaded games on your Xbox 360 and modern consoles if they are backwards compatible titles. For more information on the games impacted in your region, visit here." In the US, a total of 46 games are due to be removed from the Xbox 360 Marketplace on 7th February, Games being delisted in the US
