It really comes down to 360voice.com's badges more than anything else. People make sure they get activity even if they don't play or stream or use the 360 that day. They have a whole application that helps you remember to keep your streak active.
You can tell Lunchbox cares about the badges because of the "360voice" shout-out in his motto. That's another badge.
* This post is not meant as a criticism, but rather just relaying information. I like the completion and genre badges myself.

With a streak that long, I wonder how many RRODs he had or if that was all on one console.

I think that site has a function for you to say you're without console (RROD, vacation, whatever). You don't get those days added to your streak, but your streak isn't broken.

Dammit. My box just RRODed. It's only 2 years old. Was one of those Falcon versions that was going to fix the RROD problem. Should still be covered by warranty.

My xbox just red ringed too. Unfortunately the website says I'm not under warranty. That isn't true, because I bought this console in August 2007, so I should be good, but maybe my registration didn't go through or something. Or maybe they put through that extension after I bought mine? I'm not sure. I'll call the number tomorrow to dispute it.

A few days ago, mine red ringed and on the site it said mine was out of warranty as of Jan of 2009. This was a refurb they sent me back in 2007. I called and they looked it up again and said they're going to fix it for free. Hopefully I'll be shipping it out today.
I guess It's a good thing I saved the original Refurb box it was shipped in.

Does anyone know how to remove a custom station on last.fm for the 360? I entered a person and it keeps telling me there aren't enough songs to play the station but it won't let me remove it now.

If you get a refurb unit does it still carry a 3 year warranty for RROD? I'd be surprised if you get anything longer than a year even for RROD.

Your warranty transfers over. It does not add an additional 3 years. However if you are outside your 3 year window and get a refurb they give you a 90 day warranty.

Re: Netflix
so i just signed up for a two week trial. now, it is all activated through XBOX and everything. it is so cool. the one movie i have been desperately wanting to see "The Entity" i can watch it on my tv and it looked pretty damn good. i can't wait to finally watch this this weekend!
also, put in instant queue "The Triangle" with Melissa George which i wanted to see.
for sent DVD's i have "Precious" with a short wait.
1. how long does 'short wait' usually take to finally send?
with the movies through XBOX, sometimes with game trailers that i want to watch instantly on XBOX it starts and stops and has to buffer, not ones that i download, but ones that i watch without downloading.
2. will the movies i watch instantly have this buffering thing during the viewings or should most of them play non-stop without any hiccups?[/B]
3. does it take a while for newer release movies to be available through 'watch instantly'? if so, how long?
4. how come some older movies i want to watch instantly like "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare" isn't available? what is the criteria for a 'watch instantly' title?
5. In your queue: if you have 2 'short wait' in position 1 & 2 and then in position 3 a 'now' will they ship the 'now' right away since it is available?
6. what does "determining your video quality mean and what is it based on? some movies have 3 status bars lit up, some two...
thanks for answers.
i really got fed up with BBV last week when i rent a new movie and all of a sudden they change their policies so that when you rent for $5.00 you have it only for 5 days and have to return by date or pay over charge. used to be a 7 day grace after the initial 2 days rental so i could relax.

What kind of internet speed are we talking about using with NetFlix?
If you can't watch some of the streaming stuff on the dashboard without buffering, I wouldn't hold out hope that your NetFlix experience is going to be much better.

its high speed cable modem. it isn't all stuff, maybe one time it happened with an "Army of Two" trailer. but, i haven't watched many mind you. downloaded videos play fine. plus, i played first few minutes of Entity and nothing happened, i am just wondering about long haul. i don't want to watch a movie and then even once get a buffering.

General netflix questions should be asked in the proper forum. fwiw.
But.
1. Depends on their turnover - could be a short wait before one is free when they go to fulfill your order.
2. buffer once. may change if your connection speed fluctuates
3. up to the distributors. Some are quick, some aren't
4. Licensing is the issue.
5. Yes. Depends on availability when they fulfill your order.
6. it means they are determining your video quality based on your connection speed. more bars = better connection = better quality.

if it is based on connection speed, how come some movies have more bars than others? wouldn't they all have the same since only one modem, one connection.

They're sending me a coffin. I asked politely and told them I didn't have a suitable box for shipping. The CS talked to his supervisor and got me a box.

thanks L&O...which is the proper forum? i just thought since it is through XBOX this would be the general Q&A for all XBOX related stuff.
if it is based on connection speed, how come some movies have more bars than others? wouldn't they all have the same since only one modem, one connection.

It's not the movies that have more bars, it's your connection at that point in time. Run a speed test twice, you likely will get slightly different results each time. That's your connection fluctuating.

It's not an Xbox question you're asking, you're talking about Netflix, which is a movie related thing. Likely the store forum.
