Kinect Star Wars & Ltd Edition Console Delayed
You better rewrite that shopping list for Santa Claus
Written by DavieMarshall today at 16:08
Please don't shoot the messenger folks, but yes you have read that title and strap-line correctly. The long awaited Kinect Star Wars and that lovely looking Star Wars themed Xbox 360 has suffered a delay at Microsoft's jurisdiction.
Originally planned to be released in time for 'holiday 2011', Microsoft have balked on that date and have pushed both of these items back into an, as yet unspecified, date in 2012. Speaking to OXM a Microsoft spokesperson gave the following statement:
Microsoft and LucasArts have elected to move the launch of Kinect Star Wars beyond holiday 2011 to ensure the full potential of this title is realized. This move applies to both the Kinect Star Wars stand-alone game and the Kinect Star Wars Limited Edition Console. We will communicate additional timing information at a later date.
An absolute blow and a major disappointment for many, it is suggested/rumoured that extra time is needed to fine-tune the title, specifically addressing issues with lagging and flaky controls. More news on the new release date as it becomes available.

New $299 bundle with download codes for Alan Wake, Gears 2, Halo 3, Halo Wars, and Fable 3 incoming:
Reader Darren Christie tweeted a rather official-looking image of a new Xbox 360 bundle. According to the picture, the new package includes a 250GB Xbox 360 console and download codes for five of its biggest games: Alan Wake, Halo 3, Halo Wars, Fable 3, and Gears of War 2.
In addition to being big in terms of profile, they're also big in terms of file size, with the box warning that these games will occupy 29.51 GB on the hard drive.
Christie told us that the bundle will be released tomorrow for $299.99. He is located in Canada, so it's possible this hardware package is a Canadian-only promotion. We've checked in with Microsoft to get the details. Just to be safe, maybe you should wait a day or so before buying an Xbox.
Rumor: Xbox 250GB bundle throws in Alan Wake, Gears 2, and 3 more
Guess I'll be getting this instead of Artoo.

Is Alan Wake really considered one of the biggest games? Don't get me wrong, I played it and enjoyed it, but I never had the impression that it was a big hit. Regardless, good deal for somebody new to the platform.

To be fair, the article says "biggest", the display says "great".
There's no debate that Alan Wake is great. Bigness is subjective. It didn't sell well, no. I haven't checked the disc image size.

Just spent the weekend in Seattle. Saw this jersey in a local Pro Shop and suddenly decided I needed a souvenir. Maybe my most favorite corporate sponsorship ever.

You've just highlighted one of my big peeves with MLS - the sponsors take front and center. Does it even say Sounders on there?

Yeah, on the little patch on the upper left.
Normally, I'd totally agree with you, but I didn't buy that shirt for the Sounders.
I got last year's model (says XBOX 360 LIVE on it) in a kids size for my boy as well.
I don't follow professional soccer on any level, but isn't that how it's done in Europe as well?

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
So I decided to sell one of my 360s a couple weeks ago, unfortunately I went the eBay route...I had played it 5-6 hours the week it was listed, had never had any issues. Of course I get a moran buyer.
They bought it via Buy-it-now the Friday night of Labor Day weekend. I had indicated I'd ship in 1 business day. I get an email from them Sunday night demanding to know where their item was. Probably should have just given them a refund right then and moved on...as I got another email last night saying that it worked at first, and then they started getting random freezes, and they've tried everything Microsoft recommends.
What are my options? It's about $19 to ship back to me.
They're in Oregon, maybe L&O wants to go meet with them?
