Thanks, I'll check that out (had the other Joy Ride game, but returned it due to poor reviews). Grabbed a few indie games and will look for that Sega game.

For those who never received their Halo 4 golden election avatar armor, I posted on the Xbox Rewards forum and received a code via Xbox PM the next day from an Xbox Rep. They gave me both a male and female code. Please note that my Rewards account did show that I earned the armor; I just never received the code.

The new update is causing a lot of consoles to be effectively frozen on startup, enough so that MS has issued a service alert:
XBOX LIVE Service Users may experience difficulties with the following services: Signing in to Xbox LIVE Affecting the following LIVE Platforms: Xbox 360 Console 11/28/2012 12:30:25 PM PST: Is your Xbox freezing when you attempt to sign in to Xbox LIVE? Is this right after you download the latest update? We are aware of this issue and we’re working to resolve this as quickly as possible. Thanks for being patient and please, check back in 30 minutes for an update on this issue. |

Is it an important update? should I decline it if its causing problems?

I got an email from Microsoft this week, warning me that if I don't renew my XBox Live Gold subscription, I risk losing the benefits it includes.
But... my membership doesn't expire until March... 2014. :hscratch: |

Weird. Anyone else having issues with Live. I was on the Xbox site when it wouldn't connect. Then, I dl'ed some games, when I came back, I'm signed in, but it won't show me any social stuff.
Looks like there is something going on: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status |

IllumiRoom is a proof-of-concept Microsoft Research project designed to push the boundary of living room immersive entertainment by blending our virtual and physical worlds with projected visualizations. The effects in the video are rendered in real time and are captured live -- not special effects added in post processing. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
This looks cool. Is this being projected from the TV or a seperate box?

http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/...ts/illumiroom/ It's not clear where the Kinect is located in the video, but I'm guessing it's behind the player, so that it can visualize the surroundings and "augment them" (like you see with the vibrating shelves). |

Pretty cool.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
The IllumiRoom thing looks really cool, but I just spent 8 months of last year building out a home theater with a 10' screen and projector. I don't think there's any way I could incorporate that thing into my setup and I'm not moving my gaming back to a TV after getting used to a giant screen.

http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/4945...xbox-x-surface
In addition, it will be seen as a hub to a number of devices to carry an "X" branding, one of which will be the much-rumoured 7-inch gaming tablet, which Pocket-lint has learnt will be called X-Surface, not Xbox Surface as previously thought. The X-Surface will not be a Windows 8 or Windows RT device, we have been told by a tipster very close to the project who, naturally, wishes to remain anonymous. Instead, it will be a standalone portable gaming system. On launch, we are informed, it will be able to access the games, music and video hubs of the new Xbox, but will not have any apps of its own. It will not have a desktop as part of its operating system, rather be entirely focused on playing full console-quality games. |

I know it is off topic but I found it amusing to see the "leak" and misinformation fall perfectly in line with the book I am reading.
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...SH20_OU01_.jpg He talks about how he did exactly that to get stories and press for his clients. --- On topic. I am excited for a new system but a little anxious about how things will transfer. I really hope all my digital content transfers. |

Pulled from CAG, but you can win a bunch of prizes including Gears of War Judgement DLC or Dance Central goodies if you drink Lipton Iced Tea (DC) or Brisk Iced Tea (GoW). Or you can get free entries by texting "dance" or "game" to 87963. The first time you do it, you'll have to reply with your email address. But after that, a total of 5 free text entries per day.

New maps for Black Ops II hit yesterday. What do you guys think?
Personally, I love the skate park map. The hydro plant is also good. Desert map is almost as good as the skate park. The ski resort map is kind of just ok imo. Haven't tried the new zombies map since I don't understand the zombies game. Also the new gun is good... but bad for the game imo. So far seems way too powerful. An SMG with AR power? Blah, like the game needed another reason for people to only roll with SMGs. |

I had an error code pop up a few weeks ago. Don't recall the exact code but a router reset did the trick.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I've been getting that code off an on this past week. At least once I went online and confirmed it was a Live outage. This morning it happened again so I manually checked my connection, re-validated my login and everything worked.

Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to launch. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Exclusive "gaming launch partner" just means it won't be on PS3 or WiiU or OUYA or similar for the foreseeable future. As the service hasn't officially launched yet, that doesn't really mean anything either.
I'm in the middle of my free trial month and haven't used it at all because I don't want to watch on my iOS devices (since AirPlay is disabled) or my computer. I'd rather it come to Apple TV along with HBO Go, but this at least entices me to continue the $8/mo subscription, especially since it comes with 4 free kiosk rentals per month. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I'm in the beta as well but haven't used it. Looking forward to seeing it in action on a console though.
