I looked up last year's numbers for comparison -
1. Wii -- 2.04 million
2. Nintendo DS -- 1.56 million
3. Xbox 360 -- 836,000
4. PSP -- 421,000
5. PlayStation 3 -- 378,000
6. PlayStation 2 -- 206,000
PS3 is almost double last year which is pretty impressive, but the 360 managed to climb back and beat it this month. Despite being down a bit from last year, I think that's pretty solid. Those COD MW2 numbers are crazy, especially the 360/PS3 split.

CoD is a juggernaut. I'm also glad to see Assassin's Creed pull in almost as many sales as Mario (1.243m). I am surprised at the numbers of L4D2, I didn't think they'd be quite that high.

Holy shit!!!
I'm surprised about Dragon Age, that's a new IP right? Was that because it was from Bioware? And I mean, that's in the same month that MW2 and AC2 were released.

Do these numbers include sales from Walmart? Remember, they ran that insane "buy a 360 Arcade unit for $199 and get a free $100 gift card" offer for a week or so in this time period....you know a deal that good moved some consoles, as I was reading posts online from current 360 owners who were buying a second console just for backup purposes or to upgrade to the latest "Jasper" (or whatever it is called) chipset....

Just because it was behind the 360? I think it's a mixed bag. While it's what I always expected after a few months, it still was the only console to have an increase over last year so the price cut and new design is still of interest to consumers. Selling quite a bit more over the 3-400K in previous years is a plus, but still trailing the 360 has to be a bit of a disappointment.

Yup.

That actually doesn't seem that terrible to me. I would have guessed worse.

Yeah, that's pretty terrible, but honestly I expected much worse, since the peak number of 360voice members who played it was 50 (or one-third of the 150 who bought Qix++ yesterday
); now it's about 18-21 per night. Bet that online community is really hopping!

According to November sales figures from the NPD Group, the game has sold under 114,000 units in the US, in line with analysts' pessimistic expectations. By platform, the game sold around 67,000 units on the Wii, about 30,000 on the 360, and only 16,000 and change on the PS3.
Yeah, I figured that was what you meant. I don't think it's that bad, but for those expecting Sony to rule from here on out that obviously didn't happen.

considering the sales numbers all over the world look pretty weak, i'm going to assume they are weak here, too.

Strong numbers all-around and no real surprises. I figured the Arcade sales would lead to some strong numbers. $100 for a HD console is pretty crazy. Hell...even I bought one!
I'm personally disappointed at Activision's dominance, as I think they are a terrible company. It was nice to see DJ Hero and Tony Hawk tank a bit, but I think they'd get by just fine with WoW and annual CoDs.

SMB doing 1.39 mill is insane to me. I haven't played it yet, but I loves me some Mario, but I was worried some folks might have been turned off by the 2d nature of it. Not to mention, while it's surely an impressive game, it had to be buckets cheaper to make than MW2, so there's that. And speaking of, MW2 sales are just redonkulous. Good for them.
Also, good to see those people boycotting L4D2 really sticking to their guns.
