Yeah, I ended up getting the 1000/1000 about a week ago. I think I clocked 60 hours when it was all said and done, but I played stealth at least ¾ of the time. I really liked the game... I mean, I even collected all the vehicles just for the fun of it, even though I had already unlocked the in-game perk.

Does anything happen when you clean up all the targets? Is there a cutscene or anything left to do?

No.

Besides the proper end of the game, there is not additional cutscene.

Yeah. It really would have been nice if you unlocked a final side mission, something that acted as an epilogue, like "Remember My Family" did in Red Dead Redemption.

Well, sorry about your experience. I didn't have any issues with my game thankfully.

I guess they wanted to be historically accurate, or something like that. That even even though you cleaned everything the war is still on.

... or they wanted to left space for a sequel. ;)

Maybe someone will buy the IP and give us one. I loved this game.

Re: The Saboteur

Well I finished this one over the weekend and can’t say I was too impressed. I finished the main storyline in a little over 8 hrs, which I thought was pretty short compared to these types of games. I absolutely hated anytime I had to climb a building. They didn’t make it real clear what you could and couldn’t grab onto until you were pretty much right on top of it. I thought most of the cars drove like shit (which I understand given the time period) and most of the missions seemed more like a chore then fun. The game couldn’t decide if it wanted to lean more on the serious side or funny side. The stealth aspect was a joke and seemed next to impossible to pull off during missions. Not that I hated everything about the game. I loved the art/style of the game. I thought that starting out in black and white and going into color was clever and also liked most of the music and enjoyed cruising around the city/atmosphere.

I guess that’s why I came here to post this. After reading all the positive comments on here I guess the game was just way overhyped in my eyes. I went in expecting GOTY material (from a couple years ago of course), but ended up feeling like I played through an average game that seemed like it was released too early. I’m still going to go through and do the rest of the side missions (but not the free play missions) and sell this one off.

Re: The Saboteur

It sounds like you just sucked at the game. I never had a problem with the stealth (like I said above, I played in stealth about 3/4 the time), and I thought it was very clear where you could climb based on the highlighting of the ledges. Climbing wasn't as refined as Assassin's Creed, but it was serviceable. I also got a lot of enjoyment out of blowing up Nazis, which is why I completed all the free play targets.

It's kind of silly to go into the game expecting GOTY material, since clearly it did not win any GOTY awards. People said they had a good time with an above average game.

The cars do drive terribly, though.

I loved this game because I spend $9 and it delivered far beyond that cost.

I suspect cars back in the 30's and 40's handled pretty bad - so kudos to Pandemic for capturing the shittiness of steering

I would like to add again that I loved this game....but on car handling..

It seems like a lot of games set in the 40s-70s have cars that handle bad, and everyone says "that's realistic, cars did handle bad" I think that is crap myself. Give me cars that drive well, and don't blame poor programing on the era. It is not like 1 person could REALLY take one gun and wipe out a military base by themselves...but it is a video game...so we accept that...but by god you better not have a car that can drive through traffic without hitting every bump, curve, or pedestrian in sight...

Mafia 2 comes to mind...I even read reviews that said that as the game progressed the cars handled better. I played the shit out of that game. I thought the cars all handled about the same in all parts of the game, and wonder if the reviewer was only naturally progressing his own skills at driving and claiming the cars got better.

Re: The Saboteur

The cars don't handle that well, but, in my case, after playing for more than 30 hours or so, it just felt normal. I even won a few races, the ones needed for the story and achievements.

Also, you can feel the difference between the different types of cars in the game.

+1

I wish they'd just handle "easy" from the begining and there was no learning curve. I don't buy these sandbox type games for the driving experience. Save that for Forza.

You won't be able to see the girls topless anymore.

If you already have the unlock you are fine, of course.

This is why making single-player content download-only is bad. The boobies can just disappear one day.

Thanks for the heads up. It was still sitting unopened in my pile of shame. Just downloaded it.

Yay boobies!
