Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I'm leaning toward rebuying them if I like the feel, partially because I pretty much got them as they were coming out. Had I done one big purchase I'd think about it more. It will also depend what they charge for the four packs. The screenshots I looked at look great.

The thing I felt TPA did way better was nudging, Zen nudging always felt like the ball was floating over the playfield. The playfield moving doesn't seem to do anything to the ball, for something to happen the ball needs to be touching an element on the table. With TPA's nudging the ball would properly change path.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I guess I might re-buy them when on sale if they're like $5 for a 4 pack at that time.

Honestly I'm happy having my "real" tables in one Pinball game and my "fantasy" tables in another.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

This is great! We will finally have proper leader boards and season play.

I wonder if they will have "pro" models of the tables or will every option be included in one purchase?

TL;DW:

Volume 1 (Medieval Madness, Junkyard, Getaway II) releases October 9th at $9.99

Fish Tales is free.

New feature: They have a toggable option to "Zen-ify" these tables.

$9.99 for the pack, but 2.99 for each table by itself? So $8.97 if you buy them individually? Am I missing something?

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

As I recall, the video implied the $2.99/table price was on the Mac where the pack didn't exist. This may imply there's no individual table option on the other platforms.

Just my guess of their terrible information.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

That's probably it. You can't buy individual tables for Zen Pinball 3 only packs of tables.
I will wait for a sale since I already have those tables via Pinball Arcade.

Thanks .. I couldn't quite make out what she was saying after the 2.99 part ... makes sense

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Finally, a sale on DLC tables for the Nintendo Switch. Literally the only way I would even consider rebuying all the tables I already owned. Farewell, PS Vita, you served me well!

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Pay attention that the Season 2 bundle is not on sale ($17.99) but it contains 8 tables from 3 packs, two of which are on sale:
  • $4.99 - Iron and Steel Pack CastleStorm & Wild West Rampage
  • $2.99 $9.99 - Core Collection Secrets of the Deep & Rome & Biolab & Pasha
  • $3.49 $6.99 - Carnivals and Legends Son of Zeus & Adventure Land

So instead of $17.99 you can get them all for $11.47 or you can just spend $6.48 and wait for a future sale on Iron and Steel down the road.

On the flip side, the $9.99 Season 1 bundle contains 3 packs that are not on sale ($25 combined)

Update : Now every Switch-available table except The Walking Dead is on sale. Sucker that I am, I bought them all.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Same! Good to know that buying the 3 packs in Season 2 individually (combined $8.47) is still cheaper than the bundle at $8.99.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Make sure you check the Switch eShop itself and not just the website. Bethesda Pinball is on there for 60% off ($4.39 instead of $10.99)

Also Williams Volume 1 is there, but not on sale.

Well, the Carnival pack I had already grabbed for free when it came out, so it came out even cheaper.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

BTW : Just noticed now on PSN Store that there was a little-noticed 3-pack of tables released in Sept for the largely-ignored Star Wars movie Solo.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/FrkHpPd_E-A" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It's not on sale yet, BTW

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Now the other half of Stern Pinball Arcade is also half off ($9.99) on the Switch. Those who grabbed both for that price, congrats. Personally, I went and got a physical copy for $27, so not quite such a deal, but alright.

For those who have pinball games on the Switch, the Flip Grip is now available for pre-order ahead of an August release for $12 {+ $4 shipping). It's a must-have for Switch pinball fans.
