According to Major Nelson's blog, Paranormal for PFX2 will launch next Wednesday, the 26th. AND it will be FREE UNTIL NOVEMBER 1st!

Re: The Ultimate Pinball Thread

Assistance with clarification on 360 and PS3.

I've been playing Pinball on the 360 for few months now (only have 6 tables but will eventually buy all) and just recently set up my PS3 and I'm planning to get a few tables for it. I'm somewhat confused on the exclusivity. The first page of this topic seems to state Zen is exclusive for PS3 while FX is for the 360 but isn't the Roman Empire on a Zen table but it's also on 360. The reason I ask is, I'm interested in the Marvel Tables. I noticed Wolverine, Blade, FF4 are available for both systems but Ghost Rider and the 3 other tables are only for the PS3? Or will they all be available for both sytems? I'm trying not to buy the same tables for each system and prefer the 360 over the PS3 controller.

Re: The Ultimate Pinball Thread

The Marvel stuff is its own 'game' on the PS3 - Marvel Pinball, while on Xbox it's integrated into the PFx2 shell. The new Marvel pack will be on both systems from what I understand.

Re: The Ultimate Pinball Thread

It does appear that most tables will be available for both systems. I would give the edge to PFX2 on the 360, though, for several reasons:

1) They've already shown forward-compatibility in honoring tables/purchases from PFX to PFX2
2) Marvel is part of PFX2 and not a stand-alone suite
3) Ms. Splosion Man is an exclusive and will likely remain now that MS owns Twisted Pixel
4) I'm on the PFX2 Leaderboards :)

Re: The Ultimate Pinball Thread

ok, thanks. I also found a link on page 17 stating the new marvel tables will be for both systems.

Also you can't use the stick to control your plunger in Zen Pinball, which is an option I prefer in Pinball FX2.

The only PS3 Zen Pinball exclusive tables after Paranormal comes to the 360 for free next week next week will be the four base Zen Pinball tables (V12, Shaman, El Dorado and Tesla -- which is awesome) and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (which is based on a PS3-only game and therefor like Ms Splsion Man and Rocky & Bullwinkle is unlikely to cross platforms.

Re: The Ultimate Pinball Thread

I got Zen Pinball for the PS3 so I could get Ninja Gaiden. All the tables seem fast and I suck even worse than on the the PFX2. I really don't like using the PS3 but I'm glad I got the tables and hopefully will get better at them. Zen also seems to load slower than PFX2.

Re: The Ultimate Pinball Thread

There's another entrant in the video-pinball race for PS3, and it's a good one! It's called Pinballistik, and there are numerous links on youtube for it.

I just downloaded these from UK PSN on Friday (3 different tables, I got all of em). This one has some awesome new ideas...such as battle tables, where you face off against your mates on the same table! Not online, but I usually can't be pestered with that anyway.

Anybody with a PS3 and a passing interest in pinball should pick this up right away - it's a steal at 8 quid for all tables.

Re: The Ultimate Pinball Thread

Sounds shilltastic. First post, raving about what looks like a very subpar pinball game and it's awesome battle modes (which should be left for FPS, not pinball.)

Send me a review code, or stick around and prove your not just a shill for the studio.

Awww, I missed the juice!

I wouldn't mind awesome pinball battles.

Dammit L&O, stop denying us some awesome pinball battles, you Nazi mod!

Re: The Ultimate Pinball Thread

Can a mod update the title of the thread? Since this thread will never contain awesome pinball battles

Dudes - it was an ADMIN who did that not a mod. I am nothing (except the 1%).

Dudes? You think we're all always talking about you? I was lamenting not getting to see the spam, you didn't come into my thoughts at all.

That'll change now that I'm going to bed.

Looks like farsight studios, the guys that did the Pinball Hall of Fame games, is going to do something similar to Pinball FX2 on just about every platform.

http://www.pinballarcade.com/

Logos on site show Bally, Stern, Williams, and Gottlieb. The video shows Tales of the Arabian Nights, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, Black Hole, and Theatre of Magic.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

But the question is, will it have Pinball Battles? If not, no sale.

Graphics look pretty bad, hopefully that isn't the XBLA version shown.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

That probably explains what became of the XBLA version of Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection, which was announced earlier this year and then we never heard any more about it.

The more (good) pinball the better.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I'm interested, especially since we're talking about real world tables like Stern and Williams. Would rather Zen had those licenses, but you take what you can get. Hopefully their physics engine is adequate.

flashburn 10-24-11 09:27 AM

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

They said they will be releasing 2 DLC tables a month. There will also be more licensed tables released besides Ripley's.
