PS3 memory question
 
I am selling my PS3 and would like to know if I delete my personal info as well as screen name will the movies I have on the hdd be deleted as well or will they remain? thanks

Be sure to deactivate your psn name from the system, for DLC, etc.

yea I plan on doing all that but is there a way I can keep the videos on there while deleting and deactivating my account?

no, once you delete the account that purchased those videos they will no longer be able to be viewed, same as DLC. If you just delete your info then they will stay but won't be able to be redownloaded by the other person

First, deactivate the system by going to Account Management, Deactivate System. You'll have to sign in when you do that, because it involves communicating with their servers to tell them to make the system invalid.

Then, go to System Settings and select "Restore PS3 System." This will reset everything to factory defaults, erase your account info, and format the drive (I believe the account info would stay on there if you just format the HDD, but this may be different with the slim since it stores more on the HDD than previous models).
