Looks like a fantastic movie. I hope the gameplay can keep up. Though with GoW giving a perfect template for this, I'm optimistic. Plus it has Picard, Begbie, and Lucius Malfoy in it. How can it not be good to just listen to? |

I'm hoping the same. The trailer is fantastic!

This looks good. I hope they keep the Metroidvania free-roaming, exploration aspect. |

They aren't. In the new ListenUp they mention that they are taking it back to the Castlevania 1-4 roots. Just an action game.
I'll still play it, because it looks gorgeous and God of War style play is fun in its own right. But God of War style play plus free roaming exploration = winner. |
Re: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (360, PS3 - Q4 2010)
hmmm 2010... seems it will be competing with the almighty GoW 3 coming in march of 2010.. Kind of an uphill battle if you ask me, but meh, I'll still get it anyways as I am a sucker for those GoW style games.
Not only that, but just from the trailer the voice acting is phenomenal |

Re: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (360, PS3 - Q4 2010)
Finally watched it. Pretty badass. I liked a couple of the DS games, but I'm more of a fan of the first 4 games than those, so I'm anxious to see if they can pull it off.
So fall/winter next year? Sounds like the publishers are already crowding the schedule(potential Alan Wake, Rock Band 3, Halo Reach?) more than a year away. |

hot!!!

Re: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (360, PS3 - Q4 2010)
It looks good and has a great voice cast. Sadly, Hideo Kojima is now involved in this game and that makes it a rental first for me. I can already imagine the protagonist in an hour long rant about how blood sucking and dark magic are bad.

March 2010 is a long way away from Q4 2010, and that's not likely to stick anyway.

Re: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (360, PS3 - Q4 2010)
looks good, but i gotta say i'm slightly underwhelmed. While it looks really good I kind of got a "been there, done that" vibe from the video. Hopefully as more material is released we'll see what sets this one apart from other God of War clones.

It just said 2010. It said nothing about Q4 so yeah I take that back. Still better be just as good as GoW 3. It has a lot to stand up to

Re: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (360, PS3 - Q4 2010)
That looks absolutely stunning. The production value seems off the charts with this one. Well done (so far) Konami.

With it being Q4, I don't think they'll really be in direct competition. A 7-9 month gap is rather substantial
What I mean is that it has a lot to stand up to.. If GoW 3 is phenomenal, and this game that uses the exact same formula is not perfect then it will just be considered a mediocre rip off and it's done. To even be considered good it will need to be as good or better than GoW 3, otherwise it will just be classified as a rip off. That is what I'm saying. I mean, look at saints row. There were a lot of comparisons to GTA when it came out, but it turns out that the game wasn't bad, so it was able to stand on it's own. Even though it was one of those "Grand Theft Auto clones" |
Re: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (360, PS3 - Q4 2010)
It has the benefit of being multi-platform, though. People with only a 360 can't play GoW3, so it won't have that to live up to in their experience.
I don't expect the gameplay to be as polished as GoW. |
Re: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (360, PS3 - Q4 2010)
Oh, and I think Patrick Stewart has the perfect voice for a game like this as a narrator.

Re: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (360, PS3 - Q4 2010)
I wonder if we'll finally meet the elusive Graveyard Duck in this game.
