I thought I would point out to those of you who want to pick it up but Fry's has it for $20, 360 and PS3. Unfortunately my store (Houston, Tx SW Freeway) were out of the 360 version, but others might still have it.

Re: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (360, PS3 - Q4 2010)
Gotta' be honest. I was quite underwhelmed by this one. It felt unnecessarily long (especially during chapter 2, where there were pointless levels where nothing really happened,) and felt outdated. It had some great art design, but the gameplay didn't live up to my expectations and I found myself quite bored at times.
I played through it, though.

I'm very late to the party but I am having a great time with this game on PC. I've seen online that a lot of Castlevania fans really hate this game and I don't understand why (even knowing the controversial "twist"). It's a lot of fun and very challenging (even on the default medium setting). I love the ability/equipment progression and that I can go back to other missions whenever I please to find secrets and upgrades I couldn't access previously. Despite the 3D graphics, this feels like a good old fashioned Castlevania game to me (and from I've read, the developers drew inspiration from Castlevania and Super Castlevania IV).

I gave up on the game back on the 360 but decided to give it another go on PC. Just as a heads up for those that care, the PC Ultimate Edition is $10.20 on GamersGate.com right now.

Even though I'm having a lot of fun with the combat the boss battles are lame when you have to do a fucking QTE. And if you miss the boss gets part of his health back?! That's my biggest pet peeve and it really brings down the experience. Does every boss have a QTE?

Yes. And the QTE with the final boss will piss you off because he insta-kills you if you screw up the QTE even once.

I think I'll be throwing in the towel on this one. I've spent the past hour trying to beat this fucker and I just died for the 20th time. I finally figure out his weak spots and get to the last part. A QTE comes up and I fail to hit it in time. I try a second time and fail again. I watch close the third time making sure it hits the inner circle. Failed again and die!
