So i searched but couldn't find any threads on this game, it sounds amazing, anyone with details throw 'em up.

Last year, when I was sitting in the third row, front and center, during Sony's E3 2008 conference, they started talking about some massive first-person shooter they've been working on. And then they mentioned that this game would also support up to 256 players...simultaneously. I kind of chuckled to myself thinking the amount of detail per character would probably be limited. And then I saw the trailer. But still, it could've just been conceptual. And then I was told everything was in-game assets. Oh. I remained a bit skeptical, regardless...and then we saw it actually being played at this year's conference.

At that point I realized I need to stop doubting Sony, already. They delivered with Killzone 2, and they're delivering with Gran Turismo 5, among other things I can't think of immediately. MAG is shaping up to be precisely the experience Sony and Zipper have said it would be. 256 players will populate an enormous map, so unlike other games where even 18 is a crowd and you find yourself dead every 10 seconds, the game world in MAG will actually be more accommodating, albeit not to the point where you'll get lost navigating.

It's definitley on my radar but with the crap that was Socom, I'm going to wait until I read the reviews and confirm lag and bugs are squashed.

This one is definitely on my radar too. The gameplay video I saw from E3 looked pretty damn good.

I don't see how 250+ people in a game makes it more fun. I'm content with 16 people in a lag free game.

I watched the E3 presentation and thought it looked rather generic. Still, I'll be checking out reviews when it is released.

This. It's going to be chaotic and annoying with 127 other people on your team. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I think this game will be crap.

That's what I would've thought, but I enjoy the bigger 32 people groups in Killzone much more than the 16 in CoD. So maybe more is better - but if it's a huge map, having to constantly re-spawn and trek all the way into where the action is might be a pain in the ass.

I thought PlanetSide was a great game and that used to be 150 people per faction (3 factions) on a continent at a time and it was just fantastic. Well have to wait and see but this is gunna b a hit or miss I think.

It's got my interest. But I wonder what the gameplay will be like a few months after release. Sometimes a game has trouble filling a room with 16-24 slots. What's going to happen when there's only a dozen people running around this gigantic map? Or will they make you wait for the room to fill up?

Not to derail this thread, but why in the world has Star Wars Battlefront not made it to the next gen consoles as a MAG?

Currently playing the beta, but wanted to let anyone else know that's interested in the beta... annual subscribers of Qore (as long as you subscribe before September 17th) get an invite to the MAG beta on or around the 17th.

I am in the beta as well and have to say that it held my interest for about 15 minutes. I hope that what we are playing is a shell of what the final game will be as it isn't really that fun.
