Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
I am afraid nostalgia will win out and I will be buying Reshelled at 400 points. Even with the replacement music and the fact it's an arcade port and not SNES port.
|
Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
I pretty much hate Reshelled and hate myself for buying it. That said, at 400 points, it might be worth it if there's a kid in your house who likes button mashing and garish pastel color palates.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
Yeah, I didn't care for Reshelled at all. Just felt soulless, even if I hadn't bought it at $15, I probably wouldn't buy it now for $5.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
Nobody bought it for $15.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
Reshelled PLAYS just fine.
Yes, it looks and sounds soulless compared to the original but it's still (pretty much) the same game. |

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
1200 is a bit much, but I like PBDub's art style and the central game mechanic, so I shall purchase it in half a fortnight.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
Battlefield is on sale again, though last time it was just for a day.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
Are we sure about that PBW price? It's listed at 800 points in the current OXM review and they tend to be pretty spot-on when it comes to price (once the game turned out to be 1200 points instead of 800 and they lowered the score accordingly). Joystiq also listed it as an 800 point game. In any case, I'll be far less likely to buy it at 1200 points considering the abundence of sales of XBLA games I already own. At 800, I figured it would be a day-one purchase.

Sweet! At $10, it's a no-brainer for me. I tried the demo at PAX and really enjoyed it.

I'm more on top of the new XBLA releases than Major Nelson. -ohbfrank-

You should just go back in time and change your original post. Or at least tell your old self the correct info.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
IGN review for Darwinia +. They give it an 8.9 They describe it as "one of the richest, most complex experiences available on Microsoft's downloadable game platform". Still, this is exactly the same game I passed on when Steam was selling it for $3 or $4 last month. I can't really get that excited about spending 1200 points on it tomorrow. I'll check out the demo, but likely just horde my points, waiting for PBW instead.

Some new from Major Nelson out of X10:
Perfect Dark, Scrap Metal and Game Room will launch this March as a part of the Xbox LIVE Arcade Block Party. Toy Soldiers will kick off the Xbox LIVE Arcade Block Party on March 3 Dead Rising: CASE ZERO an exclusive download only on Xbox LIVE, will launch prior to the full game (August 31st) and provide a playable prologue that bridges the story between the two titles. |
Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
Glad to hear we're getting PD in March!

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
Scrap Metal was made by the people who made the XBLA port of N+, a game many here loved (though I wasn't one of them).

A press release from Microsoft has revealed the pricing of all games offered in the upcoming March XBLA Block Party promotion. Think of the Block Party as Microsoft's first-quarter crack at the Summer of Arcade, combining a month of releases under one convenient promotional banner. According to the press release the pricing for each title will be: Perfect Dark -- 800http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fa...slogosmall.gif ($10) Toy Soldiers -- 1200http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fa...slogosmall.gif ($15) Scrap Metal -- 1200http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fa...slogosmall.gif ($15) Xbox Game Room -- Free to download (Each title costs 240 [$3] per single license, 400http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fa...slogosmall.gif [$5] for use on PC and Xbox 360, or 40http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fa...slogosmall.gif [50 cents] per play) Nice price on Perfect Dark. Not sure I'll be up for Scrap Metal at 1200http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fa...slogosmall.gif though. |
